Re: December 2007 (or close to that)moms ?
My DS is Dec. 28th. He is eating alot b/c he is under weight. At his 6 month he was 15 lbs. 4 oz. Breakfast: 2 tbsp of oatmeal plus a whole jar of fruit. Lunch: 1/2- 1 jar of fruit or veg (just started this yesterday) Dinner: 2 jars baby food
My ped said let him eat as much as he wants...if he wants to eat he will let me know and if he wants to stop he will do the same.

Re: December 2007 (or close to that)moms ?
my DS is underweight as compared to his height 26 inches.
I started cereal at 4 months b/c he fell off his growth curve. He has reflux and was not gaining in proportion to his height. We are now getting back on track.

I dont measure anything..lol. I make my own food for my baby, apples, bananna, carrot, squash ect. She eats 2x day (cereal-fruit-veggie). Just pour in a bowl feed her till she is full.

My ped said he can start at 6 mos since he has no reaction to any of the cereals, fruits or veggies. She said usually they start at 7 mos but he started cereal early.

Re: December 2007 (or close to that)moms ?
dd eats about five times a day - the first feeding is just a bottle - about 6-7oz. - then at her second feeding she has 2 Tbsp. cereal and fruit (ex. half a banana) - third feeding is another bottle and whatever new fruit or vegetable we are trying that week - fourth feeding is "dinner" - she has 2 Tbsp. cereal and two vegetables or a vegetable and a fruit - then she nurses - last feeding I nurse her I mix the cereal with the fruit or vegetable and just a little bm

Re: December 2007 (or close to that)moms ?
He's eating 2 bowls of cereal a day, usually 2 tablespoons each, and 1 to 1 1/2 containers of fruit or veggies. I try to give him solid food 3 times a day, but it doesn't always work out.

DS isn't a big cereal fan, and still is not. He much prefers veggies and fruit. He probably ate like this the first week or two, then slowly worked up to 2 tablesppons. That's all he'll eat at this point. His doctor wants him to have 3 eventually, but I'm not worried about it.
DD might not be a cereal fan, or it may take her time to work up to a taste for it. I would just give her what she'll eat at this point and don't push it on her. You can switch to oats or barley cereal too if you think she really doesn't like rice.
