Spring 2007 moms...
What does your DC weigh now and what's their status as far as the infant carrier/carseat thing?
Abby was born 5/8 and weighs 21lbs.
Believe it or not, I still have her stuffed into the Snugride. Usually, I don't take it out, but occasionally I still do. It is killing me, but it seems almost impossible to struggle with 2 small children (one of whom you can't put down!!), especially in the ice and snow.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Born 4/23. No more infant carrier.
DD is about 16lbs, 8 months old.
She was getting all bundled up and once I put her in there, she couldnt move. We pulled out the car seat and she liked that better, more upright and saw more.
Still hates be bundled up though.
ETA: As much as she was small..it still was getting heavy for me to carry.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Born at the end of March.
We haven't used the carrier since month 5 or 6.
Right now DD is almost 20 lbs. and DS is nearly 18 lbs.
Each carrier was 14 lbs w/o baby (lightest on the market we could get). When they got to about 15 lbs I switched over. Carrying 60lbs in and out of the house was getting too rough on my back.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Ellie was born 4/21 - She's a peanut and still in the carrier.
She weighs 16lbs 11oz and is 26 inches long.
My carrier is good until 20 lbs - I'm hoping it lasts thru the winter. I don't want to have toput her in a snow suit.

Ella was born on 4/17. She weighs 18lbs 4 ounces and is 27 inches long. I switched her into the Roundabout carseat at 6 months old. The other one was getting to heavy for me to lug her around in.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Lainie was born March 31. She weighted 6lbs. 12oz. and 20 1/2 inch.
She is 8 1/2 months and is just over 18lbs. and 29 inches.
No more infant cariers. We stopped using it at 6 months. I could not buckle her in securly with all her winter gear on. She just looked so uncomfortable. We now use the roundabout. Much better...atleast she can see out the back window now.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
DS was born 5/7 he's 20lbs now. I still use the infant carrier, i just don't carry it anymore, I just leave it in the car seat.... Hoping I can use it as long as possible b4 I get the next carseat, since I'm dreading putting in that monstrosity rear facing in the car.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
DS was born 4/10. He's 18 lbs now. We switched to the convertible at about 7 months. It was getting too heavy and I was worried about slipping while wearing my high heeled boots and lugging him around.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
DS born 5/8 also....
At his last appt he was 20 1/2 lbs (Nov 8) and 27 1/2 inches.
We still use the infant car seat....what we do is bundle DS up and take him out to the car. We have remot estart, so when we get to the car, it's warm. Once in the car I de-bundle him (jacket, hat, etc off).
We have a convertible car seat, but I have been putting off putting in the car b/c it means my little man is growing up!
But we've agreed to put it in asap. So we don't have to bundle and de-bundle.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
DS born on 5/27
Last week at his appt he was 19lbs 8oz and 27 3/4 inches.
We stopped using the infant carseat a month ago. DS started screaming when he was in it unless the car was moving. Plus I couldn't carry it anymore and DH was finding it getting too heavy to carry. So we moved him into the convertible seat and he seems to be much more comfortable.
There are times when I swear he is sleeping because he is so quiet but when I look he is wide awake just looking around. Other times he is too busy yelling at his toys to look around.

He's almost 20 pounds.
He's still in the infant carrier, but I never take that out of the car, I carry him.
It's too heavy.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
ds was born 5/9 and is about 18 pounds and 28 inches. we still use the carrier although it is very snug. i have the bundleme in it and i mainly just use the carseat and then click into the snap and go. so i only carry it for 2 seconds. i'm hoping it lasts at least 1 more month.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
My son is only 41/2 months but is 17lbs, he will probably be out of the carrier by spring. Do the bigger, convertible carseats face the back or do the face front?

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
dd was born on 5/8 and she weights 15.9 pounds and she is 26 1/2 inches
she still in the infant seat it does up to 30 pounds i think and 32inches.
So it might be a while that she is in it.

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Emma is probably around 18lbs now. I put her back in the Snug Ride because it's just easier to carry her in that than risk holding her and slipping and falling on the ice. Believe it or not, we have ice on our streets, sidewalk and yard still!

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
ds born 5/5 7 lbs. 15 oz 20 1/2 inches
NOW:
21 lbs (that was 2 weeks ago ) 28 1/2 inches
Still in the snugride until I get my car back rom the shop to fit in the new car seat. 3 Britax car seats won't fit in my dh car and I'm using his car now.
Is anyone else worried about their dc weight gain? My dr. never said anything to me about it and I go every 2 weeks for an immunization. I took him last night because he's sick (well all of my kids are sick) and the Dr was like WOW! What are you feeding him? I said to him you told me last time I was here that he's gowing fine. Then my dd went crazy and we tried to move the visit quickly with 3 sick kids!

Re: Spring 2007 moms...
Christopher was born 4/26. He is 19lbs (was 6lbs, 11oz at birth).
He is still in the snugride and for the most part I lug that sucker around still
My parents got us a convertible seat for Christmas (its sitting right in front of me right now ) but I am going to try to use the infant seat for a bit longer with the bundle me.

DD was born 4/20...she now weighs 14lbs 8oz and we still use the infant carrier...we are flying next week and don't want her to get used to the convertible since we think it will be easier to bring the infant carrier on the plane
