DH had a really bad car accident yesterday, but he's fine
He was going West on 347 to go to the train station, about to turn on 111. A woman (pregnant) was going East on 347. A man shoots out from across the road on Plaisted, blows the stop sign and tries to get ALL the way across 347. He hits the pregnant lady, sending her sailing across the divider and right into my DH, then she eventually lands crashing into a sign. The man who caused it ended up in the woods, trapped in his car and had to be airlifted, be he's fine. The woman is fine, too. The minute the phone rang here at 5:25 AM I just KNEW it. He sounded so scared. I flew up there and when I saw our truck (thank GOD he was in a high car) I could have fainted. The accident looked much worse than it turned out to be. We went to the hospital to be safe, but he's fine. I just don't know how people handle losing loved ones so suddenly in a car accident. I really thought to myself: I would DIE if anything happened to this man. Literally. Lots of damage to our truck, it might be totalled, we're waiting for insurance but who cares? Cars are worthless in situations like this. Poor thing was like: "My coffee spilled all over me. I smell like French Vanilla." Anyway, other than some cuts and stuff from the air bag, he's fine. Whew!

omg I'm so glad he's OK.
I agree, that is the scariest phone call 
I was on the phone with Rich when he was driving over there yesterday morning (we're so close over there - right in the Pines) - he actually made a comment about a few destroyed cars and how it looked really bad.
Thank God the pregger and her baby are ok as well.... as far as the guy that caused the accident, I really don't know what people are thinking sometimes. Was he drunk?!

Yes! DH got right out of the car and ran over to her. Right away she said, "I'm pregnant--I need help!" He said she wasn't showing yet and he could tell how scared she was.

Yeah, that was him. The cars were disasters. The poor woman--she had a minivan and it was destroyed. Her front tires were UNDER the front of our truck. Oh-was he drunk? I don't think so..but he was quite old and it was dark and wet out.

I would be so proud of my husband for reacting like that in that situation

That has got to be the worst phone call to ever receive!

yep...and when he called I could hear the sirens and stuff...it is indeed an awful phone call.
