DH, School, and Advertising Design Jobs

So here is the scoop:

Dh went to college in Ireland for a 3 year Diploma in Graphic Design. BA program was not offered at his school when he went. He worked for 2 years in Dublin in an entry level design position.

He came to NY in 2001 to pursue his career here. Being that it was right after 9/11, jobs were not available. He ended up going into construction till 2007. He's been in school since last year, and will finish his Associates in advertising design this May.

Here is the issue:

Should he continue for another 2 years and get a BFA? Should he graduate with the associates and try and get a job because of previous schooling and experience?

DH is 31, and it doesn't matter to me, but he says he is not looking forward to staying in school till he is 34.

TIA for reading Chat Icon

As long as he has a really good portfolio, I would try getting job now. I have quite a few friends who never finished school at FIT and are very successful.
