Ice Cream
I was really stressed with work and he brought me home Maggie Moos cheesecake and chocolate fudge ice cream.
He was so sweet. Even made me a sundae

Re: DH surprises
Shortly after we got engaged, he called me at work and asked, "Hey, do you want to go to Paris?. I thought he was kidding, so I told him SURE, lets go right now! A few months later, we DID go.

Re: DH surprises
My 30th Birthday. It was on a Thursday and DH woke up before work to make me pancakes. There were roses and a card on the table. Then after breakfast, he left another card on the table that read "you have a 4PM appointment at Oasis Day Spa in Manhattan, just show up and tell them your name". Also, dress up for dinner. I go into the city, get to the spa and DH set up a whole spa day for me. Then I showered there and got ready for dinner. He took me to Becco, my fav Italian place. Then after that a carriage ride around central park. When we got home he gave me another card and wrote a really heartfelt message in it. The fact that he did all this without any help from anyone (except the girls in his office told him about Oasis when he asked what was a good spa), woke up to make breakfast, and wrote really sweet cards were the most romantic things about it.

Re: DH surprises
My old boss asked me to work a huge black tie event on Ellis Island on my birthday. I didn't want to do it but I knew she was stuck. There were major security issues and no one was used to dealing with the government agencies that were involved. I told her I would work but I wanted to take an early ferry back, not attend the dinner or stay for the fireworks. In the end I was roped into staying and missed the ferry.
My car took me directly home after the event. I was exhausted and cranky having been in heels & a black tie attire and dealing with people with an overflated sense of self importance all day. At 3am, I walked in the door and saw a light flicker in the kitchen. I said "Hello?" As I rounded the corner, there he was sitting with a birthday hat, wrapped presents & a birthday cake filled with candles.
He had slept on the couch so he could hear my car pull up & light the candles in time.

Re: DH surprises
One evening, I came home from work (pre-engagement, still waitressing) and he had gone out with his mom and bought me about $300 worth of clothing! I came home to the bed covered with clothes. The next day, we returned what didn't fit and got more stuff. It was an awesome thing because I had never really treated myself to clothing and he knew that.

Re: DH surprises
When we were first dating, we were in Banana Republic and I loved this blazer and wore it all around the store but at that time, didnt have much money couldnt really justify spending $100 on a blazer. DH started his first real job not too long after and when he got his first paycheck, I came home and found the blazer in a box on my bed. He said it was the first thing he did with that money. 5 and a half years later, I still wear that blazer
Another time, DH was going away for a few days and I was sad about it. I came home from work that night and found drawings of him everywhere doing normal everyday things (a stick figure in bed on his pillow, a stick figure of him looking in the fridge on the refridgerator, him on the couch, even in the shower etc). It was the cutest thing ever
He also sometimes surprises me and decorates the apartment and makes candlelit dinners complete with typed up wine lists and menus.
I could go on forever. I love him so much

Re: DH surprises
When we were dating, dh, always gave me those Blue Mountain cards and would make tapes of "Our songs" and write letters. Now, he surprises me with trips, cards, and sometimes dinner.

Re: DH surprises
It's hard to pick just one, but If I had to I would say:
Every year DH and I go into the city and see a show and the tree the week before Christmas. The year prior we had wanted to see TSO, but they were sold out, so DH said he get tickets the following year. That year the tickets went on sale in October, DH told me he tried all day and they were sold out again. I was disappointed, but got over it. Then the week before Christmas rolled around and DH said, let's going to Isabella's for dinner tonight and see the tree. We had a wonderful dinner and went for a walk afterwards. All of the sudden we turned the corner and there in lights was TSO, DH looked at me and said "Oh, man that was tonight, too bad we don't have tickets" and then he pulled them out of his pocket. Third row center stage!!! I was so excited I started jumping up and down and crying. It was so a nice surprise and a great show!!!
Honorable mention would be for Christmas the year we got engaged he gave me a picture of the night sky over Dublin, Ireland (where we got engaged) and had written on it "The night the stars looked down upon us and smiled". I love that picture!

Re: DH surprises
What prompted me to start this post was that I was looking at all the cards DH has given me through out our yrs of dating/or being married. He surprised me with so many things. one of the best moments was a couple of days before our 1 yr anniversary. He took me back to carlye on the green for dinner(that's where we got married). i excused myself to go to the restroom. when I came back I lifted my napkin ot find a peice of paper. It said.."Surprise! were going to Bermuda for 5 days. I love you HAppy Anniversary" He has surprised me so many times that I feel so grateful to have have him in my life. I see how much he truly loves me
