DH and I saw them at that time too. Exactly like the picture. They were pretty high up in the sky so I don't think they were lanterns.

I'm sure it's lanterns. Ever seen balloons look like they are just floating in one place? Air currents. That pic looks like spirit lanterns. (although aliens would be way more fun and scary

I have seen those lights before. From a distance they do not look like lanterns, but they are....at least in my experience. One time my dh and I watched these lights in the sky for quite a while until they disappeared. After some researc we discovered they were lanterns. So cool

My neighbors were setting these off last night and we live jn wantagh. Thats probably what you saw. So funny! Definitely lanterns.

What i saw was two orange orbs going at a pretty quick speed in a strait line. wouldnt lanterns kind of sway or hover? They were pretty high in the sky but not so high that i couldnt make out what they looked like. They were perfectly round. My DH is a very pracitcal person and he said no way were they lanterns. I'm not saying they were ufos but I know they werent lanterns.

we saw them on 4th of july (i live in PA) they are little hot air balloons with lights in them or something..my brother was telling me about it.

They are definitely the lanterns. I've seen them for a few years now on July 4th.

Definitely lanterns, the first time I saw them I thought planet earth was being invaded. And FYI, they might be pretty, but the rings that hold them together are toxic to animals, they are killing owls and stuff. There is a big campaign here to ban them. They sure are pretty though.

They're Laterns i seen them over at smithpoint beach last week and they do look that small in the sky.. Really cool though.
