Did anyone travel with their old passport and original marriage certificate?
My TA said that it was fine to do this, but I am a bit skeptical. She said she put a note in the computer with Jet Blue and Spirit. She told me if its not expired, then there is no reason to spend the $$ for a new one. I would just feel better knowing someone else has done this before.

It wasn't that expensive and if you have the time...Why not get a new passport.
So now you can collect the stamps on your New Married name Passport.
Also, its hard enough getting through security....why complicate things. JMO

Re: Did anyone travel with their old passport and original marriage certificate?
Thanks for posting this and for the info. I was wondering the same thing myself. We are going on a cruise in about 7 weeks.
I didn't want to spend the renewal fee for my passport since it's not expired yet.
One question? Do you have to bring the original marriage certificate or can it be a copy? I don't want to risk loosing the original.

I would bring the orig. we always do....Just keep it folded inside your passport, that's what we do...

Re: Did anyone travel with their old passport and original marriage certificate?
I just book all my airline tickets in my maiden name. I refuse to pay to change it until I need to renew it.
Last year, on the cruise we did I brought my marriage certificate. But the agent who booked us in just changed my name on the key card from my married name to my maiden name. So this year I just booked the cruise with my maiden name.

I do and I have done for 10 years, so long as you have your ticket booked in your maiden name and carry your marriage cert, you will be fine. They have never asked to see mine.

I booked in my married name and my passport is in my maiden name. I was told I can bring the marriage certificate to accompany the passport. I think what you are saying is the opposite. I hope it holds true either way!

Re: Did anyone travel with their old passport and original marriage certificate?
I had mine changed when I got married, I actually got my old passport back, with an official note on the backpack indicating name change, then I didn't have to worry about having my marriage license with me.
