Did/do you have student loans
From college or grad school? (It would also be yes, if your parent's took them out on your behalf). The poll is for privacy.

Yes, I did. Small loans for undergrad (I went to a SUNY) and a big loan for grad school (I went private). I just paid them off last year.

Not a penny. I received a full scholarship to a local college and lived at home. I received additional small scholarships from other sources that I used to cover my books, fees, etc. My parents did not pay a penny.
I also attended grad school at night while working. My job at the time paid a generious amount of the tuition. I covered the rest from my paycheck and savings. So no loans.

None for undergrad, but like alli, more than I would like to admit for law school. Let's just say between my husband and I, our student loans are a little more than our monthly mortgage payment.

Yes - my parents took them out on my behalf for undergrad. I paid them off in 2010 I believe...
For grad school no because my company paid for it.

No. Went to CUNY, my only option to get a degree and not get loans. I considered SUNY or private school but decided that I didn't want to deal with big loans in the longrun.

I did, past tense.
For one year of school. It took me 3 loans and 5years to pay off. Amazing isn't it?
My parents had no money to pay rent, no way they'd pay for my school. I always knew that going in. But I went away for college (4yr state school) which includes room & board, tuition, books, fees, etc. Lessons learned to be sure!

I had qualified for a pell grant. Paid very little out of pocket for my BA and paid it off first year out of school. Went to a SUNY.
Very grateful.

I will answer my own poll. I had loans for undergrad and for law school. I paid off my undergrad loans and all of the private law school loans I took out. I still have a substantial amount owed for law school but the interest rate is so low that I just pay the amount on the monthly bill. I will have the loans for a long time.

Yep. I went to an expensive private school for undergrad so will be paying loans into my 40s. It was definitely worth it though.

DH Does - undergrad and grad - private school. He gets upset about it.. and is trying to pay it down but seems like its never ending. If he didnt have that he would be debt free

No- I got partial scholorships and my parents paid for the rest which wasn't much
I went to a local school and commuted so it was also a big help on expenes
