Did I miss the boat already for baby sign language?
DD is three months old...is she too old to start teaching sign language to? Should I have been doing this since she was a newborn? If it's not too late, can anyone recommend a book or dvd? Thanks!

No way!
My DC didn't actually start using sign language until they were closer to 10-12 months.
I used to watch Baby Signing Time videos with them. I have 2 of them. They are neat because there are songs and I actually enjoy watching them.
Baby Signing Time
ETA: I didn't start watcing the videos with my DC until they were in the excersaucer....around 3-4 months.
Also, I think the videos we have are Volumes 1 & 2.

definitely not! DS didnt start picking it up until 9-10 months. when he got older he learned it much quicker. start at anytime so you can get used to using the signs.

Not too late AT ALL!
I've used a few basic signs with DS for months, but he doesn't copy them. If I do the sign for eat, he puts the food in his mouth
He's 15 months so I'm trying to show him the sign for "more" on a more consistent basis hoping he'll pick it up.
I'm going to start signing "thank you" also since I always say thank you when he gives me something.
I used to sign "milk" all the time and haven't done it in a while.
My cousin was able to sign his wishes to my aunt for a full year before he could speak well. It was awesome! But they signed ALLLLLL day long since his older sister is deaf.

Not at all. I havent been signing all too much when DD was a baby but as she got to be 9, 10 months old, i started signing more and she caught on super quick. She can sign "more" like crazy now which comes in very handy (she is 11 months). I also used the baby signing time DVDs but there are some great free signing dictionaries online which i always use for reference.

DS has been getting speech therapy since 15 months old. He has learned the sign for more, me, fish, open, and close.

Re: Did I miss the boat already for baby sign language?
I didn't start teaching dd signs till she was about 6 months, she now (@20 months) has well over 60 signs! She can sign MUCH more than she can say, and it helps avoid MANY tantrums!
We used the Baby Signing Times that PP mentioned. we had the full set of the first 4, we recently got a couple more dvds, DD still loves them and is picking up LOTS more signs, now using color signs :)
First signs, were milk and more, @ about 8 months!
