Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
I have my first PP dr. appointment on tuesday and i'm wondering if I should take DD. She'll be one month old. I can have MIL come over to watch her while I go (DH has jury duty), but should I just take her with me?
My dr. was amazing during the delivery and i'd want her to see DD, but I haven't taken her out to public places yet so it would be the first time. I hadn't really paid much attention but i'm pretty sure i've seen women with their newborns there. WDYT?

Yes, I did.
ETS: Actually, no I didn't! I remember it was my first outing out without Ryan and it was a nice little getaway
I took him to my appt after that (I did want my MD to meet him).

I took her to my 6 week PP checkup because the girls in the office wanted to see her. They didn't touch her or anything...they just looked at her in the infant seat.

I DID!!! And from the looks of the office everytime I went there, there was a newborn. I wanted my delivering Dr. to see him and I even brought her in a picture in a frame from the day he was born.

Yes I did. Everyone was working so I didnt have anyone to watch him. He slept in the infant carrier the whole time. I see mom's bring their babies into the dr all the time. Go ahead and bring her!

Yes, my first PP visit was 2 weeks after the c-section and I wasn't allowed to drive. My mom came with me. I also brought them to the 6 week visit. THey came with me to my annual last week too

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
Yes- I am definitely going to bring DD to my PP appt. It's at 6weeks pp though. I loved my doctor and would like him to see her. I also want him to see she's in one piece since he felt so horrible about her broken collar bone.

I didn't, but that was only b/c my Dr was in the city and I did not want to bring DD into the city from LI.
With baby #2 I will definitely take him or her with me if I need to.

No... if you do bring her, could MIL go too to help entertain her during the exam?

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
I didn't for a few reasons. She didn't have any shots yet. The office has a habit of running behind schedule and I didn't want DD getting restless. And the office is in a medical building with other types of doctors so I didn't want to expose her to germs.

Yes, but because I had a C-section. DH was with us too, since I couldn't yet drive or carry the baby in the infant seat.
The ladies in the office LOVE seeing the babies.

I did, and I took a picture of her holding DS. I put that in his baby book.

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
I took DS b/c DH was working and we don't have any family nearby who could've watched him. My PP appointment was in January so I just put a blanket over the car seat. He slept the whole time.

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
No I did not. Thankfully I didn't b/c the waiting room was packed and someone was coughing...it was also flu season but now with the Swine Flu, any season is a risk IMO.

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
Nope. I left him at home with my mom. I, personally, didn't want to take a 6 week old into a doctors waiting room with me.

Re: Did you bring your baby to YOUR first PP follow-up dr. appointment?
No I didn't. It was the height of the swine flu coverage, and I refused to bring him. Mainly because everytime I went, there were kids in the waiting room running around and I figured why take a chance.
