Did you/do you have a child who is IMPOSSIBLE to change?
Do you have any advice, tips or tricks? When did you start changing diapers struggle-free? I'm angry and sweating each and every time!!
Maybe this is a pointless question because I've tried everything...toys, books, songs, physical violence...kidding! The child is 14.5 mos old; I tell her all the time, "We've been doing this for over a year now--get with the program!"
Maybe I'm just looking for some sympathy...got any?

I have no advice- I do have much sympathy since Emma is also very hard to change- if DH is around I make him help me. And I've tried everything!
The kicker for us is that she is very good for my mom, my MIL, the babysitter- everyone but DH and I!

We have the same problem. Lately I have been asking DS to "help" me change him by holding a new diaper and that sort of works. Otherwise one person has to hold him and the other changes him.

I just started using baby powder on Ryan and he likes it. So when he flips over and fights me, I ask him "Do you want powder?" and he flips back over for it.

DD is the same...I cheat and give her something to hold/play with...I'll either grab a toy she hasn't seen in a while or sometimes I'll even give her things she shouldn't have like the A&D or her toothbrush or something to distract her while I change her QUICK!
That and some funny faces and songs get me enough time to get the job done!

Re: Did you/do you have a child who is IMPOSSIBLE to change?
YES!!! I have to change her in the crib which is no small feat. She jumps up and runs around and squeals with laughter as you try to catch her
I find if I make it a game and try to get her to help me (which she will) and I distract her she is better. But is hysterical b.c it takes my mom about 10 mins to change her clothes b.c she hasn't learned the tricks. Mom says it is payback time.

At that age we started pull ups because they were quicker then getting a regular diaper on her, and she could stand up and be in the living room while we changed her, as opposed to confined to the changing table.

PULL UPS! At that age, it's very quick and easy to use them. I had to start using them on my DD when she was 11mths. It was much easier to change her.

I tried changing DD on the floor in front of the tv. That usually worked. Or we sing her favorite song (Old MacDonald.) Most days it is such a struggle.

Ahhhh...pull-ups! I never would have thought of that! Thanks!
