Did you get a smash cake for DC 1st Bday
We ordered a regular cake but the bakery didnt do smash cakes
Do I just give him a slice
There will be close to 70 people at his party, so Im thinking just a slice is ok. A smash cake might get way too messy at the hall

I did - - but only bc my cousins DH is our baker, I think giving him a slice to dive into is just fine.

I think a slice is just fine ~ I am planning on doing a cupcake tower (hopefully) so I will probably give DS a cupcake.

I did for DS. I just made an 8 inch cake and decorated it like Cookie Monster. It was more for the photo op.

My mom made cupcakes with white icing and blue flowers for the kids at the party in case they weren't into the larger cake.
DS got his own, but actually ate most if it. He is a cupcake fiend. Can't imagine where he got that from

What about getting him his own cupcake?
I made an elmo cake for Kaydyn to eat by herself, while we all ate a cake from the bakery. She didn't really care for it though.

Anthony is having a cupcake themed birthday party so he is getting his own cupcake. I think its the perfect size.

We did. I ordered a fancy big birthday cake from the bakery and then a small personal cake for him to have fun with from the supermarket for about $8. He loved it!

I made her a seperate one since the main cake was chocolate and she never had that yet. But I made both cakes.

No. On his actual birthday, he had a cupcake and for his party, he got a slice. He wasn't interested in either one, so I knew a smash cake would be unnecessary.
I am also not a fan of the smash cake idea. I don't want DS learning to put his hands in the cake. I know other people think it's cute and fun for photos, it's just not for me.

No, but I did have an Elmo cupcake--cake from BJs. She had her own cupcake but wasn't really interested in getting her fingers dirty though.

I made one! I got small cake pans from AC Moore and made it for him.
But why not just see if they can make a cupcake to go with your theme?
