Did you get something for your students?
Especially elementary teachers with graduating 5th graders! What did you get them? Thanks!

Re: Did you get something for your students?
I feel bad that no one replied and I'm sure that this is not what you had in mind:
My freshmen are taking Regents Friday afternoon. I want to do a tutoring session on Friday morning. Since they eat crap for breakfast like this:
with doritos, sour patch kids and little debbies. So I am getting mini-bagels, butter, cream cheese, and REAL juice. That's my gift to them. Nutrition.

I'm a kindergarten teacher. I got them each a book called "The Night Before Summer Vacation."
Are your kids into Smencils? The kids in my school are. They are the pencils made out of recycled paper that smell like different things...5th graders would love those. I think they're $1 apiece.

My third graders love those pencils too! My third graders "graduate" since we have K-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12 in my district. We bought them books to read over the summer (at their reading level).

Re: Did you get something for your students?
Last year, someone I teach with got her fifth graders beach balls, and then all the kids signed each others. I thought that was cute.

Re: Did you get something for your students?
Thanks for the ideas!
I went on oriental trading and bought small duffle bags and am going to fill them with "curriculum themed things." I found US History and globe/map punch balloons, kick balls, pencils, tattoos, erasers, US history note pads, and bubbles and a graduation duck for fun. I got free shipping and 15% off which helped a little.
The moms bought them school logo water bottles and Frisbees so they should be all set!! :)

I think that is such a cute idea! I'm having a beach themed end of the year party for my 2nd graders and I think that would be a great idea for a gift. I just wouldn't let them blow them up until they got home to avoid beach ball chaos in my classroom!
