Re: Did your DH have a bachalor party?

it was just an open discussion we had

it wasn't necessary per se, but it was a good foundation

Re: Did your DH have a bachalor party?

DH's family and most of his friends are in the Boston area, so they rented a bus to take them to Foxwood, where they rented a meeting room, had dinner then gambled. There aren't too many men in our family so it was just his.

Can I ask a silly question? Do people actually need to "set" boundaries? Don't most people know what acceptable behavior is already? I mean I don't have to tell my DH not to get a happy ending or a BJ or to touch someone's nipples ... his own belief system and morales are in place to prevent such acts from happening already. Chat Icon DH doesn't need to tell me not to squeeze someone elses b@lls or have some stripper kiss on my neck, it's a given.

Lisa...I had to laugh when I read this. You crack me up. I think it's not about laying down the laws, but some pople may be ok w/ touching. I don't know. Chat Icon

alright, point taken. Maybe I took it too literally but when someone says "laying down the law" to "I set the boundaries", I think to myself - I cannot imagine having to actually say the words "OK honey, you can go, but please no hand jobs tonight, ok?" Chat Icon

I agree. I think it is a learning and growing process. Different strokes for different folks. Maybe you think something is acceptable that your spouse does not. I would rather discuss ahead of time. In general to me, marriage=no strippers. I was glad DH felt the same. But others don't feel that way, so I think a communication line is necessary.

EXACTLY

yeah, let me clarify, it was ONLY for my bachelor party that the touching rule was waived. And that was only T&A. No sexual acts were allowed at all.

Now, in the very rare case where I am in the presence of strippers, no lap dances and no touching. Looking only.

to be honest, my FIL is a very conservative guy and i knew he would be uncomfortable so i did not invite him - it would have made me uncomforable too. My father was not there either.
