Dinner question if your DH comes home around DC's bedtime

I would like to give Katie, for dinner, whatever we are eating. Its just easier than making 2 diff things. The only problem is, DH doesnt get home until 630, which is normally when she is getting her last bottle and going to bed.

I would hate to have to pre-make everything for when she has dinner, then reheat it when DH comes home.

WWYD?

I was thinking of giving her a bottle around 5, then giving her dinner at 6:30, then bed. this way I only have to cook once and we can all eat together

this is what i do when i know my dh is coming home early. it works out, i also just give a lil water (2oz) right after dinner to help her digest.

Either I make dinner earlier so that DD can have it. Or, she has left-overs from the night before. Depends on what I am making, if it can be made ahead of time, and if I HAVE any leftovers.

She will eat most anything so it's pretty easy.

DH gets home around 7:30 or 8 on a good night, lately later still, so there is no way we can all eat together. DS goes to bed right around the time he gets home.

DS will not eat many of the things we eat, so often we have two meals anyway. On weekends though, we all eat together. And during the week if I'm making something DS will eat (like ravioli), I reheat. Not a big deal really, the part that bothers me more is that we all can't have dinner together.
