Disney & Pregnant
We will be going to Disney in a few weeks. I will be 11 weeks. I know it will be ridiculously hot so I will be sure to drink a lot of water but what about the rides?? I obviously won't be going on Expedition Everest or Space Mountain (2 of my faves) but what about the tamer rides? My daughter is 4 y/o and finally tall enough to go on some of the more thrilling rides. She is just over 40" so tall enough for Splash & Big Thunder Mountains, 7 Dwarves, Slinky Dog, Kali Rapids, etc.
Of course my main priority is keeping the baby safe & wouldn't do anything to put him/her at risk, but I would love to experience DD's first "big girl" rides with her if possible. Any BTDT pregnant Disney mamas? TIA!

I think that 11 week period stinks because you don’t feel very pregnant but it’s a real thing and I’ve had a cancelled vacation due to complications at that many weeks (fortunately, baby was fine).
Take it safe.

Re: Disney & Pregnant
I've done Disney while pregnant twice and rode most of the rides each time. Totally safe. Just take note of the signs at the front of each of the rides, some specifically state not for pregnant women. Obviously roller coasters and the faster rides are off limits, but most of Magic Kingdom is very tame and IMO safe to enjoy. I would check with your doctor before you go. Enjoy!

Re: Disney & Pregnant
Thanks for the link! My in-laws planned the trip so I didn't have much say in the dates. Seems as though I will have to sit out on a lot of the rides my daughter was looking forward to but she can go on with DH and other family members. Always next trip, I guess.

Re: Disney & Pregnant
I went to Disney at 17 weeks and didn't get to go on rides. It sucked but I didn't feel comfortable taking the risk.I would read the signs and chicken out. I was fine with the walking (it was ridiculously hot!).

Re: Disney & Pregnant
I've been to Disney pregnant twice. Both times around 20 weeks. I went on any ride that didn't have a height restriction. So no mountains, rapids etc. There's still plenty of fun stuff to do!

That's pretty much my plan. I'll be 17 weeks when we're at Disney. I'm more bummed about not drinking around the world at Epcot.
Congrats btw!

Re: Disney & Pregnant
You need to discuss it with your doctor. I personally wouldn’t risk all of the bumps and jars to the body. I did the small world type rides and still had a blast. The only thing I was upset about not doing was Kilimanjaro Safaris (too bumpy).
ETA I also followed the Disney guidelines for pregnant women. They are posted for every ride. Enjoy!

Re: Disney & Pregnant
Thank you everyone! I figured I'd have to sit out a lot. I'm such a ride junkie but obviously nothing is worth risking harm to the baby, especially when it took so much time and effort to get pregnant (went through IF and IVF).
And yes Momma2015! No drinking around the world
