disney during spring break
OK talk to me about Disney during spring break... Am I crazy to think about going? Its two families to all together 4 adults and 3 kids ages 4,2 and 1. Will it be so hard to get restaurant reservations? How about the lines for the rides?? Also whats the air faire usually like from NY to Orlando at that time?????
Thanks for all and info you guys can share!

disney during spring break
My boss did this with her 2 kids. They're both school aged; and her husband is a teacher so they're limited to trips during breaks. She said it was CROWDED. And the flights were extremely expensive but she was able to use points. She got all the restaurant reservations she wanted; but she did mention the lines for the rides.

disney during spring break
we just went in march and found out the hard way the rest of the country has spring break during that time....dont do it!!
we went to animal kingdom and managed to get on one ride before we gave up and left...the safari (which we waited an hour and a half for)
we left hollywood studios because it was too crowded, took forever to get from one part to another. my kids were getting cranky bc we were walking soooo slow and the lines were all so long.
the only time the parks were empty were right when they opened, the first 2 hours were not an issue...after that it was HORRIBLE!!
we went in august once and it was hot, but the crowds were not bad at all!!! i would go during summer over spring break!

disney during spring break
we almost went during spring break this year... My TA talked me out of it - as well as everyone one who has ever gone at that time - lol. We decided to go mid August. Yes, it will be hot but I can stand the heat and humidity with small crowds more than I can stand heat with large crowds. Oh and also the flights were CRAZY $$$

Re: disney during spring break
Flights are easily $500+ per person. You may be able to make it slightly less if you're willing to have a layover, but that's not even a guarantee. If you are able to be at each park at rope drop, stay for a few hours, then come back at night, it may be manageable . But I honestly wouldn't advise it.

Re: disney during spring break
I wouldn't recommend going during Spring Break unless that is absolutely positively the only time you can go. It's just not pleasant when crowd levels area 9 out of 10.
If you do go during Spring Break it is an absolute must that you are at the park at Rope Drop. That really is the only way to get on any rides.
During Spring Break this year, there were huge lines even for those with FastPass+. The standby lines were absolutely ridiculous! I wasn't there, but I follow a few blogs and they showed daily pics.

BTDT and I would never do it again. Magic Kingdom is the worst out of all the parks with being crowded. Horribly crowded.

No, it is not a good time during spring break. It is also not a good time during summer. We went in august 2 years ago, so hot I would never do it again. We are pulling the kids from school next year to go

disney during spring break
We went every year during spring break from 1985-2010. My parents packed all five of the kids into the car and drove down there. It was crowded, but we always got to go on every ride we wanted to go on (except maybe dumbo) and I can assure you we were never there for when it opened (my parents are not really morning people).

Unfortunately things have changed, especially with the new fast pass system. Standby lines are much longer now than they used to be. Ironically, since they have two Dumbo's now, that line is never long anymore!
I personally would never go. Airfare will be through the roof, and the crowds wouldn't be worth the expense of the inflated cost of everything at that time to me.

We would wait on very long lines (45-120+ mins), but it never really bothered me or my siblings so I guess my parents just went with it. They also always did 2 days at the magic kingdom and 1 day at MGM (or whatever they call it now). Every few years, we'd go to Epcot, but we were not huge fans.

Re: disney during spring break
The kids are young do you have to go during spring break bc of work? It is horrible. Go to easywdw and look at photos of the crowds. It can be done but you will want to do a lot of planning and make sure you hit the 180adr dates and 60 day FP+ marks if you are on property. I would only consider doing it onsite, in case parks close to capacity.

Exactly this. This year we moved it up two weeks and it was still a zoo. :(

Prices were cheap enough many years ago to warrant the lines IMO. I think my parents paid $15 for our tickets when I was little (they are in my baby book). I would not pay hundreds of dollars for park tickets to stand in atrocious lines for over an hour and not be able to walk due to wall to wall people. Different strokes for different folks though!

Passover and Easter are not at the same time in 2016- my DH is a teacher and we are not Jewish so I think we go during Passover week- the majority of the country will have off in march

disney during spring break
Jet Blue just released airfare for that time of the year. For our family of 3 we usually pay $700 or less to go to Disney. For spring break the air fare was $1600.
