Disney in January now... LOL!
Well, we have been having so many things going on and going wrong that are costing us money, that it looks like we have to postpone our trip from 12/11 until 1/1-1/6. We could probably do it later but I really want to be there for some of the holiday stuff which ends on 1/3. This is going to be hard, lol.
The main places we want to see the Osbourne lights in HS and that ends 1/3, that was my favorite the one time we went during Christmas, the lights of course on the castle/main street and the ICE show which is not part of Disney, but it's AWESOME and that ends 1/2. (I've seen it 1 time) If we go then, we now have to figure out how to do everything, lol and hope it's not too cold.
It just seems too soon to plan to go 12/11 since it's right around the corner. We've just been so busy.
Anyway, I hope we get to go!

January 1st is still peak holiday pricing and the WDW Marathon weekend is January 5-7 in 2012 so be prepared for higher crowds and prices on those days.
I hope you get to go too!

last year dh and i went from 1/2 to 1/9. we landed late so we didn't go to disney on the 2nd, but the bus driver told us the crowds were horrible on the 2nd. the 3rd through the 8th weren't that bad. much better than the previous time i was there in july.

Last year the 2nd was on a Sunday, this year it's on a Monday, so I would guess that will play a major factor in crowds. I know if I were planning a vacation over Christmas, I would come home on Sunday for kids to get to school on Monday.
