Do any of you have a kid (2-3 yrs old) who NEVER throws tantrums?

Because my mother swears my sister and I never had tantrums...and I want to f'ing kill her when she says that because I'm currently in the midst of 3 year old hell right now. Heck, my six year old still has...ummm...her moments.

Is my mother out of her mind or does this mythical child actually exist?

They exist!

My DD, now 5, never had temper tantrums regularly. She's always been a really easy, go with the flow type of kid.

My DS is only 10 months so it remains to be seen what he'll be like. I'm hoping lightening strikes twice!!

Just keep telling yourself it's a phase, it will pass!!

ETA - To clarify for SOME people on here. Like every kid, she's had a moment here or there but she was not a serial tantrum thrower by any means which is what I assumed the OP was asking about.

Doesn't exist and our mothers are nuts!!
My mom always says: I don't remember you guys doing THAT when you were that age. Well, that's because you had me a looooooong time ago and your memory sucks.

They exist lol My first DS is almost 4 1/2 and has never had a tantrum. My almost 2 1/2 year old, on the other hand, started having full blown throw himself down, kicking & screaming tantrums before he turned 1 though so my luck ran out lol

My DD is only 2.5 so we still have plenty of time, haha, but she really doesn't throw full blown tantrums. She can be bratty and whiny with the best of the them, but doesn't do the whole screaming, throwing herself on the floor thing. She was a very early talker and I think that really contributed to her not being trantrumy.

My mom also swears that my brother & I never threw tantrums as toddlers & that we never ran off in stores & were good & sat quietly in church. My niece was an angel as a toddler - she never threw a tantrum, I never even heard her whine or cry & I've known her since birth. Wish my kids were like this

My mom says the same thing about my sister and I. (I cant remember my sis as a toddler but believe me she threw plenty of tantrums as she got older, I can vouch for that).

My nearly 2.5yo DS is very very well behaved and generally a great listener but he DEFINITELY throws his share of tantrums too. Just this AM he had a total meltdown because he and DH were doing facetime with my BIL and I didn't say goodbye to BIL when they wrapped up their call. I was downstairs in the kitchen getting breakfast ready and DH/DS were upstairs in the guest room.

Toddlers can be very rigid and are still learning how to express their feelings. Tantrums are normal (but yes they can be frustrating!!)

I think every toddler has his/her moments. There are some that have more moments than others, but at that age it is very difficult for them to express exactly what they want and a tantrum is a way of doing expressing themselves.
My 5y dd is an extremely well behaved, mild-mannered little girl, and always has been. But she definitely had her share of frustrated moments. She still has them from time to time.
My other two kids definitely like to up the drama level lol.

My DD never ever ever had one up until this year (5). And I don't believe as a child I ever did either. My sister was a different story on the other hand.

I have one of those! My DD, who will be 5 in June! I can honestly say that she has never thrown a full blown tantrum. She whines about things sometimes, but I don't consider that to be the same thing. She is our sweet angel. Seriously, we are blessed.

DS (who will be 4 in June) is on the complete OPPOSITE end of the spectrum. He throws multiple tantrums throughout the day and sometimes some of these tantrums can go on for more than an hour. So he more than makes up for DD's great behavior. haha

My DD is only 2.5, so I'm sure I'm in for it soon... But she has never had a full blown tantrum. She will cry/whine when she doesn't get her way, and I'm usually able to squash it or distract her before it escalates. She's losing her only child status next month...I'm preparing for the worst!

Any my 12 month old daughter is going to give us a run as well. FIESTY! She already throws baby tantrums.

ETA - my son was a dream up until 3, when he realized he COULD challenge us on ... everything.

My 3yo rarely has tantrums.
Every kid is different. My sister threw one long tantrum for the first 11yrs of her life. She outgrew it

My mother swears the same thing! We never threw tantrums, we listened to everything she said, ate everything, slept perfectly, etc. I am very mild mannered and if I'm mad I keep it in but still...

My DD has been throwing small tantrums (screaming, throwing herself on the floor, wriggling out of our arms as if we were trying to cut off her arm) since about 14 months. I always heard "terrible twos" but apparently she's gifted in this area? I can only imagine the fun once DD#2 arrives in April and pray that the baby is mild mannered because I don't think I can handle two shrieking banshees. In her defense though, DD truly is a sweetheart 95% of the time. The other 5% is usually at home with no one else around. I pray that part continues!

My son was great, I mean really great, easy-going, happy, pleasant...

But even he had his moments. We knew certain things/people would get him going, and we knew he'd go off the deep end, so we'd just hoped they were short-lived.

My FIL swears that none of HIS children, nor any of his other grand children threw temper tantrums...just my son. And, as he conveyed to my parents, he doesn't know where my son got it from. Well that's a bold-face lie, since I've witnessed both his other grandchildren having major meltdowns, and I don't even see them that often!

I think grandparents' memories teeter between "selective" and "delusional".

every kid has their moments (some certainly worse than others) but I think it's horrible to make a mom struggling with something feel worse by acting like your kid is perfect when they aren't

Oh we never did when we were growing up. Both me, my sister, and my brother never did and I know for sure because my mom is the type to lean toward the side of telling us all the bad we did so if we did it, she would tell us! I'm the youngest and my sister and brother are much older so they can remember with me and they verified that I never did. It would not have been tolerated by my mom, that's for sure. I'm still afraid of her

My nephew is now 12 years old and I remember him having ONE his whole life - ONE tantrum over trying on a tuxedo in a tux shop That was it. Other than that, he never did.

Then, I have other young kids in the family who throw them all the time. I guess it depends on the kid.

My 9m old threw a tantrum today because I wouldn't let her take the neosporin to school with her. You'd have thought I beat her. Shes going to be a handful.
