Do diaper pails just lose their freshness?

Do diaper pails just lose their freshness?
I have the diaper dekor and everytime I change it I use clorox wipes clean all of the parts when it is open and then lysol it. It still smells yucka though. Is there some other mechanism for keeping the smells in I'm not noticing

After a while i trashed my diaper pail for that exact reason and now just use the plain old garbage which we empty every day anyway.

Oh glad it's not just mine. I just thought DD's diapers were so potent nothing could supress it.

When the diaper champ starts getting stinky, I fill it up with hot water and antibacterial Mr. Clean or Lysol, and let it sit. Then I dump it out and let it air dry outside. Then I spray it with Lysol. Works every time.

I have the diaper dekor + but I dont put any "poopy" diapers in it. Every time I put a diaper in it, the poop smells makes me want to vomit, so I put them in a plastic bag and make DH take them outside.

Same, I put mine in the attic. I would have thrown it away, but I spent all that money on it!
