Do Long Island Teachers....
get a pension? Just wondering, I am a city teacher who has no clue how it works in LI.

Long Island Teachers are a part of the NYS TRS.

yes, very similar to the city system, but it's the state pension system. any teacher in new york state is part of NYSTRS, except city teachers. the city is the only district with its own pension system.

I believe that the city is now part of the state pension system as well.
