i think it's automatic for me to use my blinker in most situations.
if there are other cars around i ALWAYS use my blinker.
if there are no cars around, then i might not.

Only when other cars are around. Same as when driving on the highway... if the road is empty, I don't use my blinkers.

Yes, but if the car is reversed into the driveway I've been known to signal out of my driveway.
