Almost 20 years ago (and after 20 years of marriage)my father cheated on my mother. He almost lost everything- and did everything in his power to make it up to my mom. As much as it broke my mother's heart, she knew she loved him, forgave him, and took him back.

My father and I had "a talk" right before my wedding about that time (I was about 13 then). He cried when he told me how sorry he was for that lapse in judgement. That he would spend the rest of his life feeling regret, and is still thanking God that she forgave him, because she is everything to him.

Once a cheater, ALWAYS a cheater? - Absolutely not!

Amy

If you are engaged or married, then yes I believe it. If you are just BF and GF, then it doesnt matter IMO. True there can be circumstances on why it happened, but for me, the trust would be gone. Thats the #1 thing in my relationship, so if thats gone, then nothing else really matters to me - love is not enough.
