Do you bring your child to daycare with a cold, no fever?
I can't tell what Ryan has going on - he doesn't have a fever but he's snotty and coughing - but is def. teething so I think the coughing is from sucking back in his drool. And he sounds a little rasping, but I have a stethescope and it doesn't sound like it's in his lungs. Worst week ever for me to be out of the office- literally the busiest of the year. I'll stay home if I have to - but if this is just allergies or teething sniffles, I really don't want to take the day - it's only my 2nd wk back FT.

I probably wouldn't. Only because even though what you're describing is probably from teething (DD has the same going on) I wouldn't chance it...especially where other people's children are concerened. Their parents might not be too happy that your DC is there...KWIM?

Just about every kid in Kayla's class including Kayla has had the sniffles for the past week. They send them home if there is a fever or get worse. As hard as it is to send your baby off with a cold, I would send him.

I probably would and tell them that they could call you or DH to get him if they need to. Honestly, they will call you if they think that he really needs to go home.

Sounds like teething to me, I would send him. If he gets a fever they will call you. Teething symptoms are very similar to that of a cold.....

Yep - just dropped him off with boogies and a cough! He has no fever. Just a cold and now a cough. I told them if he is warm or extremely cranky, to call me. I have tomorrow off, so I am hoping he can make it to tomorrow.

Re: Do you bring your child to daycare with a cold, no fever?
Megan had a cold all weekend - started on Friday early am and developed into a fever on Saturday (her first one ever! ) She is fine now - but mommy has the cold.
I hope Ryan doesn't have what she had. But honestly, I wouldn't/didn't bring her to daycare the way she was on Friday. Sniffles and coughing - However, I fortunately had a grandma available. Hope Ryan is feeling better
oh, and we've been looking for teeth, but none yet....

Same here. Last week DS had a cold (still does) and I really debated on Friday whether or not to send him, but honestly I can't keep him home for every cough & sniffle. He was fine there, they all have runny noses right now. But I did feel guilty at first bringing him.

Re: Do you bring your child to daycare with a cold, no fever?
I had this 2 weeks ago with DD. I brought her in, explained her symptoms and then told them to call me if anything. They didn't!
I'm pretty much out of days at this point and I only earn one a month - after the 15th. I told my day care lady that I HAD to go to work, but once I was there I could leave if necessary. She understood and she told me DD had no symptoms during the day.
I also called my doctor and she told me to give her Children's Dimetapp Cold & Allergy once in the morning and once at night. I only had to give it to her twice before all symptoms went away.

Re: Do you bring your child to daycare with a cold, no fever?
Thanks - I ended up bringing him and told her to call me if she felt it was anything more than sniffles. She called about half hour ago to say he seems fine but looks like his finger is infected - I thought it looked weird yesterday and DH thought I was crazy so I thought I was overreacting. Anyway, DH is going to take him to the MD this afternooon for the finger - and check on his cold.
If his cold symptoms get worse during the day, FIL will go get Ryan until one of us can get home.
