Do you correct everything they say wrong?
Just a thought that popped into my head...
For instance, I usually have a bagel for breakfast, but today I am eating an english muffin. DD keeps saying "bagel, bagel" because she wants a piece. Do I let her just say it's a bagel, or try to correct her everytime??

Eh not sure I'd do that. BUT....when DD calls the duck a cow or the kitty a dog...that's when I DEFinitely correct her

In that situation, I'd probably reply with "Ok, here's a piece of Mommy's english muffin." Basically, indirectly correct her. Over time, she'll get it.

i'm a speech therapist and this is what i would do, too... you giving her the right word, without being outright like "NO! YOU'RE WRONG!!" LOL

On things like that sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I think their cluelessness is so cute.

Re: Do you correct everything they say wrong?
well my theory is my own silliness.
my oldest spoke VERY early. pronounced every word, every syllable. full conversations, 3-4 syllable words, never went through the "baby babble words" stage of pronouncing things wrong, like "I fought it was funny" (my 2nd child) and my 2nd child showed us the many cute ways children can say words differently sometimes I do correct him, and sometimes I dont. It's just too darn cute (He's 4 now) and I figure this will only last so long and I dont want to rush this cuteness away.
my 3rd knows more ITalian words than English, so this one will be entertaining us for quite some time (he's almost 2)
TO answer the original question, If it's the wrong word totally, yes I would correct them.
