Do you eat rabbit?
My DH's family eats rabbit and for Easter MIL is making it. I AM TERRIFIED! I have a very quick gag reflex! Someone please tell me how i say "no thank you" without being obnoxious! i just know the IL's are gonna try to force me to eat it!!!

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
No, I don't but my Dhs family does-they eat many "different" animals... my grandmother used to make it for easter dinner too
just kindly decline- that's what I usually have to do, they don't seem to mind, at this point they know me so long, they don't even ask... they just know what I will eat and what I won't. (I am not too picky)

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
I don't eat it. My grandma (old school Italian) always made it on Easter (sick, right?).
We now spend Easter with my IL's, so I don't have to worry about declining anymore. When I did spend Easter with my family, there were always other things that I could eat aside from cute little fuzzy bunny rabbit.

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
Eating rabbit on easter just seems like complete Irony to me, lol...if i was told as a kid that mom was serving up rabbit i would have cried.
Just politely say you have had it before and do NOT like it. that way they can't say "just try it, just try it!!". Lol.

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
my great grandmother used to make rabbit... I am told by my lying mother () that I used to eat it happily as a child, but I'm sure its just because they tricked me or forced me too
That said, luckily noone does the rabbit thing anymore in my family.. but I do have to deal with lamb on Greek Easter at my inlaws and I don't eat lamb either SO I have perfected the old standby "I have a sensitive tummy and don't eat much meat, sorry" line ...and they totally understand

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
My grandma makes it, but I do not eat it. My dad, uncles ect will have it and love it but the thought makes me sick.

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
I had no idea that was an Italain tradition. My mom's family is selectively Italian, and we used to have lamb, but not everyone likes it, so we had pork for a while & now we go out.
I think I'd be curious to try it, but feel bad about eating a bunny.

It's pretty traditional for Italian's. In Italy, I have seen canned rabbit cat food in the food stores..

Re: Do you eat rabbit?
let them put it on your plate and just dont eat it.....if you verbally say no thank you...typical italians can be real forceful(theyre very serious about their food!lol) they'll be like "oh jsut try!" so just say you'll try a little(but dont really-you'll be so grossed out!)lol Try not to make any of these faces
because they can get insulted!
