Eating rabbit on easter just seems like complete Irony to me, lol...if i was told as a kid that mom was serving up rabbit i would have cried.
I thought the SAME thing! Just say that you don't care for it. We had to eat an odd variety of meats when I attended culinary school, so I have had it and I felt sick to my stomach while eating it. I'm not much of a meat-eater to begin with...

Couple of years ago, we were in Italy and my sil (brother's wife) LOVED animals!!!!!!! For dinner, my aunt made rabbit but we told mu sil it was chicken. She LOVED it!!! Next day I was singing "little bunny foo foo..hopping through the forest" all day long..Finally she asked me why I kept singing the song and my brother told her....
She gagged!!!!!!!!

Just say, "No thank you." Don't opt for the allergy excuse. I did it with gefilte fish not realizing it was made up of different fish & there is no actual "Gefilte" fish.

I went to a wedding once where rabbit was the main course. I politely told them that I was a vegeterian. They quickly brought me some pasta!

No!!!! and I come from a very traditional Italian family - I think no one makes it because all of my cousins and myself REFUSED to eat it when it was made...so the adults gave up trying to fool us by telling us it was chicken...we also did this with deer meat

My next door neighbors growing up were Portuguese and they had them in a shed in their backyard and the Mom would go out and kill them in the shed and then bring them in the house to cook
I could never eat rabbit after seeing that.
I do enjoy lamb on Easter though
My boss is Portuguese and his mom raises a baby goat for a while and then she kills it and cooks it for Easter!!!!!!
I always threaten to go to her house in the middle of the night and rescue the little goat.....
To answer EMily, no I have never eaten rabbit, and don't know if I would ever try it.
