Do you ever feel like your parenting is being judged
Hi
I was wondering if anyone else feels this way..I feel this way sometimes with some friends and family members. It really aggravates me.

Sometimes I will get comments from my parents about my son, he is very hyper, but I let it slide off my back. My Dad is old school and thinks everything can be solved by a spanking. I know my kids are happy, healthy and loved. I know I am doing my job the best I can for them

Sounds just like my mom with the spanking thing. I too know I'm doing the best job I can (a better job than my parents did actually), so I just roll my eyes. OP, just ignore them and have confidence in how you are raising your child.

You feel that way because people ARE constantly judging you. I hate to be negative, but let's face it, every single one of us here gets judged far too often. Whether it be by a total stranger, friends, family, etc. It sucks, but when it comes down to it, who cares? We all do the best we can with what we have, and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks so long as we know we're doing what we think is right. It's hard to stand strong in that sometimes, but it gets easier with time and experience.

Rachel is 100% right.
And the sad fact is that most of us also have our own judgements (voiced or unvoiced) about other people and the manner in which they choose to raise their families.
But in the end it is YOUR opinion that matters. Nobody loves your babies more than you do. And if they are happy and healthy and loved and are being raised to be good adults - then you are doing things well.

Not yet...thank god. I'm sure it will be in a few years though. My boyfriends family is extremely laid back when it comes to children...with discipline and what they're allowed to do at young ages. I on the other hand will be a little stricter with certain things that they allow.
If it is no one has had the guts to say it to my face...lol.

Constantly. And it irritates me b/c I pride myself on being well-read and well researched about things. I have some family members who constantly say things like," Oh that's a bunch of hooey" and "It wasn't like that when I raised my kids & they survived"
Drives me insane.
