i have the same problem... i hate it when our neighbor parks in front... why cant they park in front of their own house

DH and I happen to be super close with almost everyone on the block so it doesn't annoy me if someone parks in front of our house.

However, we do have one neighbor next door he's like 20 and his mom left the house to him when she went and moved in with her fiance. Well, said neighbor, has ridiculous parties - all the time!!! And his guests will park ANYWHERE - even if they are blocking someone else. That I have no tolerance for!

My view is this - if you don't use the spot then what's the big deal. If they are preventing your own guests/family from parking near/in front of your house, then say something politely to them.

Yes - I would be annoyed if people parked there when there was space open in front of their own house. If there wasn't room in front of their house or they were a visitor/guest of a neighbor, I would not mind.

I don't have this problem since I l ive in a rural area, but my mother lives in West Islip and her neighbor likes to leave the front of his house totally empty and park in front of her house. He quickly stopped when my mom parked right in front of his house!

my parents have a neighbor that always does this. In the spring and summer my father sets the sprinkler up so that it blasts thier car. LOL!

I've never really had to deal with this. We live in Suffolk County and the only time anyone parks in front of our house is if a neighbor is having a party, bbq, etc. Honestly, I don't mind. I have really nice neighbors. I have a very large driveway. If they run out of parking for their get-togethers, I've even offered them my driveway to park in ... and vice-versa.

Just do what I did....

Buy a house with a fire hydrant in front of it.

So now I am the annoying neighbor that parks in front of other peoples houses because I can't park in front of mine!

i would just park my car there before they do, hopefully they'll get used to parking somewhere else..... and get the hint, if not, oh well, its public property.... u r less likely to get robbed since someone will think u guys are home! could be positive thing

My MIL's neighbor parks an old blue " Who's the Boss" van in front of her house. I told my DH I am going let the air out of the tires. They park it so if you look at the front window you are starting at this hideous van with rust...its such an eye sore.

They claim they take the kids to baseball in it, and transport the team. I don't see how its safe at all.

It's not a neighbor that does it to me, but a business owner. We live in a residential area and there's one block of a deli, a restaurant and a cleaners. The restaurant owner parks in front of my house every day because my block has no meters and the restaurant block does.

I hate that.

Mine parks on the side, which is even MORE annoying. I live in a 2-family house. Four car driveway. They have the right side of the drive, I have the left. They park one car in the driveway and the other to the side. My hubby and I always park both cars in. BUT NO, they park that one clunker to the left of the driveway, almost ALWAYS making it hard for me to pull in and back out. Lets not even start on Trash Days when they pile trash cans behind my truck and I have to move back and forth for 15 just to leave. AND Snow when they choose not to dig it out (which is always), it means the plow goes around it leaving me with a HUGE ice cave to slip side in and out of.

I get annoyed at our neighbor's friends and kids friends who seem to think it's perfectly acceptable to park in front of our driveway. I'm not talking about the other side of the street across from it, I'm talking about blocking the driveway!

The neighbor reads the kids the riot act when he catches them but because of a large pinetree, it's not easily seen from their house that the car is parked blocking our drive. When he had a graduation party for one of his kids he even put orange cones out to identify our drive, and one of the (stupid) kids parked between the cone and our drive - said he thought it was there to save the space for parking

Fortunately, we have a circular drive so we generally can get out if need be without, once again, going to their door, but it is definately annoying.

The same thing happened with our neighbor. Our neighbor's boyfriend was parking right at the edge of our driveway. I couldnt see when I was backing out and I was getting really annoyed....its not like there wasnt any room in front of there house. Anyway, DH and I spoke with our neighbor and he hasnt parked there since. We just asked them really nicely to park away from the driveway so we can see when we pull out. Sometimes the boyfrind needs a "reminder" but for the most part, he doesnt park near our house anymore.
