Do you get the flu shot?
I used to when I worked in the city but I no longer commute so I haven’t gotten one in a couple of years. Dh is dead set against it for himself and the kids. We vaccinate our kids he just is completely against the flu vaccine.

I don't, my DH usually does, and my DS got it for the first time last year but got the flu so bad he ended up with a scary high fever and the ped sent him to the ER straight from his appt. So. There's that.

Dd does....she got the flu one year even though she had the shot though. Kind of annoying.
I don't get it nor does DH.

Absolutely! Last year DH was the only one who did not (had surgery so was putting it off until after)....and he turned up with the flu less than a week later. Everyone else in the house was vaccinated and flu-free!

Yes dh and I and my kids. My dd has severe asthma and her doctors always tell us that we should all get it to try to keep her from getting it.

No way. I am also asthmatic , though it is more seasonal as I get older and prone to bronchitis. My Dr's are on board with my decision.

Really, I was a chronic asthmatic and my whole life my doctors have always pushed me to get it. The one time I had the flu w/o the shot I ended up in the ER and was out of commission and on the machine/prednisone for 2 weeks.
My stepson also a chronic asthmatic has to get it every year.

Yes. really. And no one "HAS" to get it. It's a personal choice. To each their own. I have my reasons for not getting it as I'm sure people who get it have their reasons. The only thing I suggest is everyone do their research!

I only get it if pregnant.
The flu shot doesn't give you the flu. It's a dead virus. If you get the flu, it's a different strain.

I never did previously (except when I was pregnant) but now I work at a nursing school and we're required to get it b/c even though I don't work at a hospital, the students do and they want to minimize the spread as much as possible. Kinda sucks b/c I have a needle phobia!

Yes. I never did until I was diagnosed with cancer; my oncologist advised me to get it because if I ended up with the flu while on chemo, it probably would have been a disaster.
I've gotten it every year since then.
I had the flu about 12 or 13 years ago and it was AWFUL -- honestly it was so bad that even now, more than a decade later, I still get queasy thinking about how terrible it was. If the shot prevents that from slamming me again, it's worth it. And yes, I'm well aware that it doesn't cover all strains of the virus.

I do. I work in a hospital setting and I either get the shot or have to wear a mask, which I do not want to do.

My DS just got his. I tried to get it this weekend but the target pharmacy was closed when I went. DH usually gets the flu shot as well. It not only protects you, it also protects those who can not get the flu shot due to a compromised immune system.

Who gives the shots when you go to a pharmacy?
The pharmacist? I didn't know pharmacists could give shots.
or do they bring in like an RN or something?
