this is how mine is as well.

before getting PG I made sure to always go to the female Dr., now for some reason I really don't care, which really suprises me because I used to get really freaked out at the idea of a male OB/GYN

My Dr. is female, and it's an all-female practice. I feel better about it.

Re: Do you have a male or female obgyn?

I switched to a male obgyn once I found out I was pregnant because he is the only doctor in the practice and he is just amazing, I never thought I'd like going to a male, but I like him so much better than anyone I've ever been to.

My current doctor is Male. Over the years I have had both Male and Female OBGYN's and there has never been an issue.

The OB/GYN practice I used to go to had one man & one woman & you had to see them both during pregnancy. I'm switching to a female midwife with this pregnancy. Seeing a male never really bothered me.

Re: Do you have a male or female obgyn?

I had a male one years ago and he told me I had herpesChat Icon Chat Icon Turned out to be a saddle sore from horse back ridingChat Icon So thus scarred for life, I swore off male doctors. But then I had a horrible female doc who let me cry in a waiting room with 12 pregnant women after I miscarried waiting to see herChat Icon Yes, she was compasionate huh?Chat Icon
Then I got referred to a really sweet woman doctor who delivered Grace. Or should I say, ran in and caught her as she flew out of my body since the nurses couldn't wake her in the break room to deliver my baby and kept telling me to do little pushesChat Icon

Now I am back with a man doctor- he is very well respected, I really like him but we'll see....Chat Icon Can you tell I really distrust OBGYNs!

Sorry so long!

Re: Do you have a male or female obgyn?

both are in my practice, and frankly, I see no difference among them.... there is one I don't particularly care for, but that is likely because it's the most Jr member of the practice (and overtly the least experienced), not becuase of her gender Chat Icon
