Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
I have issues with people wearing black with brown. They just dont go together IMO.
I'm also not a fan of stockings with open toed shoes - but then again I'm not really a fan of stockings in general.

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
When people "jump" the season. For instance, on the first cool night in September you see people with scarves and boots even though it's still technically summer. I feel the same about those odd days in march or April when it gets nice and warm for a minute and the sundresses and shorts come out-- for a minute.

Bra straps showing
Thick white socks with sneakers for anything other than working out
Definitely agree on the too short pants
Obese people who wear cropped tops and super short shorts.
People whose pants are so pulled up that they start around the torso.

Toe overhang. Go up a size.

never knew this was a no, no. I actually asked my friend who works for a well known designer in Manhattan and working on her own line, she said there is nothing wrong (and no "rule") with wearing navy blue with black or brown with black and it actually looks great on anyone, you just have to know how to dress and what to wear.

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
Oh and another pet peeve of mine is Hunter boots with all the white cra** all over them. I just don't get it, you pay so much for them just to have all that white stuff all over it if you wear them in wet weather... one of the reasons (other than them being ridiculously ) why I would never buy them.

Totally! It drives me batty that people (not just LIF members) are so opposed to those colors being together.

I know there are several people in the fashion world who say this is perfectly fine, like on What not to wear, but I just can't get on board with it. For me, especially with the blue and black it's like you tried to match something but you didn't. Almost like wearing two different colors of black together. Personal preference I guess.

i also dont mnd blue and black together. If its done right, it can look good.
I do hate when people dont dress their age. This goes for the 40 year old who is wearing something her teenage daughter should wear, and the 20-something year old who dresses like a prairie mom

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
- pants that are too short - wearing sweatshirts while wearing boots or any type of heeled shoe. -wearing uggs with shorts, or flip flops with a winter coat. Figure out which season you are in and stick with it.
there's a bunch more, but thats what came to mind first.

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
Every pair of pants my boss owns are ill fitting, polyester and 4 inches too short for her. (where's the flood?) She also wears VERY light pants that are 4 sizes too small ,(could really benefit from some spanx) and matches them up w/shirts that are not age appropriate and too short, and insists on running up and down the stairs in these get ups daily The whole scene is just disturbing
The woman makes more $ than God, there is NO excuse for this.

LOL I just came back to add this one...I went to a 40th bday on friday and a 45 year old woman was wearing a CUT OFF SWEATSHIRT, with jeans and heels and the jeans had studding on them.
As far as my blue/black thing, I was referring to navy. Anything lighter, more royal, is permissable to wear with black!

I would say my biggest one is lipliner that is darker than the main lip color used. Or as I just saw someone refer to it on this thread "roast beef lips". To me that screams "vulgar trash".

LOL, I'm not a fan of royal blue...on anybody! I have no issues with navy and black together. I can totally picture a navy sweater dress with black thigh high boots!

I agree, it's just personal preference, I'd never do it because I don't like the way it looks but I don't care if someone can put together a nice look with black and brown - though I would think that lighter brown colors would work better
