Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
I agree with the whole navy blue and black and brown and black combos. I know these colors can be worn together but it must be done correctly. Unfortunately, most of the time I see it, it doesn't look good.
I hate logos all over the place Those plastic, clear bra straps should be outlawed! I'd much rather see your regular bra strap. Open toe boots make no sense whatsoever and I think they are hideous looking Ill fitting clothes

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
Just thought of something else: too tight clothing, resulting in camel toes and muffin tops! Nothing is more unflattering or, I would imagine, more uncomfortable!
And black and brown can TOTALLY be worn together. It all depends on how you combine things in an outfit, what kind of fabric a particular garment is made of and exactly the type of brown it is! For example, matte black pants and black turtleneck with a nice fitted suede light brown jacket would work very well.

I hate "roast beef lips" and streaked hair Amen!! My other big ones are Mom (or Dad) jeans, sweats with the elastic ankles, and the older women who dress like they are 20...it's really, really gross.

Women who insist on wearing their clothing 2 sizes too small
Open toe shoes and hose
"Mommy" stained clothing. It's not endearing or cute or acceptable to go out w/ baby puke all over your clothing simply b/c you have a small child - (at least IMO)

never knew this was a no, no. I actually asked my friend who works for a well known designer in Manhattan and working on her own line, she said there is nothing wrong (and no "rule") with wearing navy blue with black or brown with black and it actually looks great on anyone, you just have to know how to dress and what to wear.
Totally! It drives me batty that people (not just LIF members) are so opposed to those colors being together.
Ditto here too! I've worn those together and think I pulled them off nicely!

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
another pet peeve
I'll see women with their gorgeous minks this time of year and they'll have backpacks on and sneakers.. I understand you're going for comfort but it looks horrible!
commuting women who tote around like 4 different bags.. why not just throw it all in one bag? that's just frustrating to see..
woman who wear white clothing but it's NOT lined and therefore you can see their colored undergarments underneath..
people wearing open toed shoes and the nails are all chipped and gross..

I was at a wedding years ago, and a friend showed up wearing a brand new suit that said "cool wool" on the sleeve. he had no idea it was supposed to be removed.
Fortunately, we noticed this in the hotel we were checking into before the ceremony, but none of us had scissors or nail clippers & it was quite an event trying to get it off. We had to get the hotel staff invloved & made quite a spectacle, but none uf us will ever forget to check for those tags now!

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
My pet peeves have more to do with men than women. The following are all aimed at men:
-I'm not a fan of dark colored button downs. Very few men can carry this look and the ones who can tend to wear custom fitted shirts. (Too much fabric in the waste is really unflattering.)
-cheap looking ties - bad patterns.
-ill fitted pants/jackets, usually too big and/or too long.
-Affliction t-shirts
-anything sparkly on a guys shirt (think Jersey Shore)
-eyebrows that are over-groomed.
-necklaces and/or bracelets. I don't even like piercings.

LOL! Yes, the X stitch and the labels -- so funny to me yet sooo annoying! On skirts too!!
And when guys wear blazers with jeans -- blahhh that bugs me!
And when people come home from a freaking ski/snow vaca and don't take the darn lift ticket off their jackets for like MONTHS lol just so everyone can see they are cool enough to go away to Mount Snow!

So many of ones that were already mentioned. I also hate when people leave their lift ticket (or whatever that ticket is from skiing) on their jackets for say....2,3 seasons! Seriously...just remove it, nobodys impressed you went skiing 2-3 yrs ago.

i hate those so much! Those are right up there with toe socks!! really hate those too. The toes freak me out.
I hate jumpsuits. Men in velour jumpsuits out in public, the worst. I am really anti the juicy jumpsuit too. (Although I will admit I had a rainbow of them and wore one almost every day for 4 years). Now, I can't do it.

I must admit i like blue and black together. A jewel toned blue top and cute black skirt with black opaque tights - that is a good outfit!!!!

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
So many listed here already! But I'll add my thoughts....
white bras. they should be outlawed. Nude color goes with all.
White bras under black shirts
no pedicure with open toe shoes/flip flops
clothes that are too small
just sloppy dressing overall (pajama pants fall in this category)
Anything written across your butt
sunglasses so big you look like a bobble head
crocs, unless you're under the age of 12
bikini wearing when you shouldn't (and I am all about the fuller woman wearing one)
velour sweatsuits

Re: Do you have any fashion "pet peeves"
I lot of things mentioned but my #1 pet peeve is socks with sandals! WHY WHY WHY do people do this?? If its hot enough outside to wear sandals then you shouldn't be wearing socks and if its cool enough out to wear socks then don't wear sandals! I just don't get it.
Like this seriously I just can't

i am so with this! i can't stand it. i hate my dad's outfits sometimes. he insists on brown belt / black shoes or vice versa. it annoys the crapizoids out of me. my mom says "shut up, Rachel, at least he's wearing a belt!"
