we both have one differently.
Mine through work for 2X my salary (which isn't much - this is Texas). Its enough to pay off the house and most of our bills. My 401k goes to him as well (and all my debt). He has a much much larger life insurance plan that would set us up for a much longer while should he pass.

We both aimed at paying off our debt and then having enough to cremate each other. I know exactly how much that costs now. Both of us know we'll have to keep working to support AJ. Should we both pass at the same time, she's set up nicely until about college probably, with all our debt paid off. We have to assign someone new to take over that. Dad's gone and now its most likely going to be his boss... who is ironically a financial advisor.

Our financial advisor (who works with my hubby as well and is in the same practice) made sure we had enough. I could do with a little more. And I also have a life insurance plan on AJ, though much smaller.

Yes we both have policiies. I am insured for a little more than he is.
