Nope. As long as they respect my opinion I can respect theirs. It's a diverse world with diverse people & opinions. I hate people that preach their beliefs and insist that everyone that doesn't agree is wrong.

Not at all. In fact, some of my closest friends, including my husband, disagree with me on some very fundamental issues.
What makes someone my friend is someone who I find intellectually stimulating - a person who, even if they disagree with me, present their argument with such intelligence, articulation and grace, that it really makes me stop and think.

No, absolutely not. But if that person tries to shove his/her opinion down my throat or talks down to anyone who doesn't share the same opinions, then no.
Hey, me and DH are voting differently and we still get along (most of the time, anyway)

Not necessarily but some people that always think they are right and dont listen to what others say....wel, thats where the problems exist.

not at all I am very glad I have a variety of friends, many have similair views on a lot of things but many also are totally on the opposite end of the specturm of my thinknig, it keeps things fun actually....

No, not at all. A lot of my friends hold different views than I do. I like debating with them.
But I'm also grateful for my friends that DO share my opinions, because sometimes I need someone to vent to without hearing anything contradictory in response.

I'm gonna say yes and no. Yes because I won't tolerate anyone who insists that their beliefs are "right" if they don't agree with mine and they pretty much talk to you only to convert you. 
No, because its nice to have different opinions and different ways of looking at things. Sometimes it may open your eyes up!

Three of my best friends on LIF lead very different lives than I do. I have some major things in common with each of them, and major differences.
I've learned so much from them, in a non confrontational way, and I have a greater appreciation for vegans, animal legislation, and Texans who don't have accents. I do declare.
Seriously though, I think having things in common with friends is important to have something to discuss and talk about - but not everything.

Of course not!! We can agree to disagree about certain things and live our lives they way we each need to, but still support one another.
