Because I'm shocked to believe they exist. What some might consider racist might not be racist to others. I wasn't asking for specifics just the context.

believe me, they were racist... i am not easily offended & i dont think i'm that type of person to blow something up to be a "big deal" when its not... but some bumper stickers i've seen are flat out living in the past racist

I'm not ashamed to admit that I judge people based on their bumper stickers. I think it's human nature--we "size people up" based on their appearance, so I think anything that openly shows something about that person is fair game.
That said, I will admit that I lose respect for people who have "W '04" stickers on their cars. Come on...that's nothing to be proud of.

There's a truck in my neighborhood that has a bumper sticker on it that says "NObama" with a crescent moon symbol over it.
Basically, the guy is broadcasting that people shouldn't vote for Obama because he's a Muslim.
I mean, vote for Obama, don't vote for him, whatever. But to lecture people - via bumper sticker - NOT to vote for him because he's Muslim (which he is not) ... yeah, I can't help but judge the owner of the truck: as an ignorant, racist idiot.

i love reading bumper stickers and then looking at the driver just to see if they "fit" and i do the same thing with personalized license tags. it's just fun to do when you're driving

I also had one (now my DH's car). I was asked a few times at traffic lights what it meant. Once, someone began to question my faith asking me if I believed in God.

yes.... in the sense that I will assume they believe in and support what they say...
bumper stickers are another way of announcing what you stand for. so if some has a bumper sticker for a particular politican, for example, I will assume that yes, that person is of X-political party.
but to say i judge them by saying, " I hate that blankity-blank supporter in the Nissan," as I drive by, then no, I don't judge.

Absolutely. I also judge personalized license plates. It amazes me that people would pay extra yearly fees to tell everyone a phrase they came up with.

Now I judged that person as immature as well as hilarious - totally my speed!

now that you mention it, I DO always stare to see who is driving with a W '04 sticker.... I'm always wondering who are the remaining few who support him no matter what.....
other than political stickers, I generally don't judge... but if it's a pile of dimwitted jokes, I tend to think the person inside is also dimwitted...
is it right? nope. but, I'm just being honest!
