I had a "cool" job for a long time. I was an event manager. Coordinated golf tournaments, 1000 person black-tie dinners with celebrities, sport personalities, CEOs of corporations, politicians, etc.
It was hands down my favorite job.
I took a more staid position when I got married but I do love my job now. I didn't want to work the hours & spend January-February in CA, away from my family.
I've met people with even cooler jobs than mine - luxury airline pilots, concierge for celebrities at Disney, personal chefs for families, etc.

I think my husbands job is really awesome. He builds super luxury houses for billionaires fashion icons and celebrities in the Hamptons. He gets to know some of them pretty well. The houses are over the top, a few have been on TV shows and in magazines.
My brother does this also.

An acquaintance from HS is an indie rock musician and has toured with Ingrid Michaelson and now has her own band.
My sister has an acquaintance from HS who was a Rockette and has had several roles on Broadway.
My mom's cousin was a CIA agent.

I know someone who is a cameraman/producer for popular reality tv. I know a ballet dancer and someone who for for the NHL so the perks are awesome

I think I have an awesome job. I work for a company who provides mobile bidding and fundraising software to non profits. We meet celebrities at our events. Even better we get to see non profits raise hundreds of thousands of dollars using our software. I WAH and have an extremely flexible schedule. I just came from my Kindergartners school where I volunteer in library every Wed. Tomorrow I will go to my other sons class and volunteer there. Next Monday I am getting a haircut, etc. etc.
HA! All this time I thought you were a Dr of some sort because of your screenname

Do you know anyone with a seriously awesome job?
I work for a large consulting firm. But I get to WFH basically whenever I want. My company and team offer a LOT of flexibility and the $$ is good.
IMO, it's the best role for a professional mom who doesn't want to give up her career and/or sacrifice time with children. Granted, I won't be able to care for my LO fulltime when I am working, it is nice to know we can do lunch dates!
I get to travel from time to time which isn't as glamourious as it sounds but the points add up quick and my family has been able to structure trips around my work trips, get free flights, upgrades etc.
Plus sometimes it is nice to get away for a night or two and have 'me' time.
Celebrities don't really 'do it for me' and I have no cool talents ahahaha. So I think where I ended up is perfect!

I do mostly video games, hidden puzzle games, anime (Pokemon), talking toys, LOTS of commercials and training videos. The job never gets boring!
DH does the same thing, but he mostly does those automated recordings you hear on the phone.
We also have a talent agency so that keeps us super busy! :D

I have a friend who used to work for badgely mishka and I got to go with her to a perfume launch and saw all these models from the ads walking around. Another designs for oscar de la renta and has all these pics of them together before he passed.
A high school friend of mine is model and now a stunning wife to a mega rich husband. She just started an event planning business but really she just lives a glamorous life of traveling to all these exotic places and eating delicious food. She even toured with p diddy when he was p diddy lol.

Oh, I just remembered that I also have a friend from college who now works as a cameraman for NBC News and is one of the main cameramen for the Today Show. He gets to film everything - he was there to film the NYE ball being assembled and placed on the top of the building, the Today Show, the tree lighting at Rockefeller, etc.

A friend from college is a weatherman for an ABC affiliate in Memphis. In addition to reporting the weather, he gets to take part in interviews with celebs. He actually had a video that went viral a year or two ago when the power went out in the studio and he hand drew a weather system to use to do his report.
Another friend from college tours with different musicians as part of the concessions that sell band merchandise. His last tour was with Daughtry I think.

I know people that play golf for a living on the PGA Tour. I may also know a 2 time Super Bowl MVP Champion. I think those are pretty cool jobs.

Without getting too specific I basically work in County Government but the work I do is sometimes very public... people seem to think that's cool, they see me in the paper and on the news from time to time. I get to do press conferences, public health events, be on camera a lot (which I kind of hate but everyone else seems to think it's so awesomel) , I get to present in front of large groups, attend a lot of luncheons, dinners, formal events and fundraisers, and then I get to work with the police department (my favorite kind of people, the straight shooters, no pun intended) -- I help them plan, implement, and carry out sobriety checkpoints. I get to see the action happen but I don't have to worry about getting my a$$ shot at - so, that's a plus. I get to go to Albany and DC a lot - work, sit, and chat with politicians. I have met pretty much everyone in that circuit from this area - like Rudy, Pataki, Cuomo, DA's from all the counties, Senators, Congresspeople, the VP, County Execs, etc. People seem to think that's cool - they like to see my pictures I have hanging in my office. I only put up the ones where I look thin
The cool part, to me, is the fact that I know what I'm doing is saving lives and making what happened to my brother and his suffering a horrific injury and living with adversity - I know me doing this made it so that all of his anguish didn't happen in vain.
Totally up my alley!!!!

I remember talking to someone at a friend's Shower who's husband did some camera work on the Today show. Said Al is super nice and Matt was never too friendly. This was a long time ago though.

My friend worked for google and that was seriously a sweet gig. I visited him and he showed me around and I was ready to be hired to clean the toilets just so I can have all the free food, lattes, juices, and swag!!!!
The teacher I work with has a daughter who works for Letterman. She said because he doesn't like to work that much, her schedule is crazy for a month or so and the. She gets months off at a time!!! and she is on salary!!!! Plus she meets all the celebrities.
As far as jobs in schools go, I think mine is awesome although most probably would hate it. I am called in to target the most difficult behaviors imaginable. I have seen it all, yet always see something new behaviorally. I love assessing, working, and fixing all kinds of behaviors.

A former student of mine is a rock star.
He wrote the song "Wasted" for Tiesto", "Clarity" and "Spectrum" for Zedd.
He headlined a music festival in India over the holidays and posted a picture on his FB page of him on this massive stage playing in front of 200,000 + people.
His best friend is another one of my students who is very successful at Gawker.com. He has the flexibility and $$$ to meet up with his beset friend whenever he's on tour.
The day before Christmas vacation they knocked on my classroom door (nine years after they graduated). I was shocked!! A couple of girls in my class recognized said "rock star" and almost lost their @#$%!!!
I vicariously live through their FB and Instagram posts
