ETA: we dont even know where the bank accounts are, safety deposit boxes, land in Italy etc. nothing.
DH's gradnfather and father are the same. DH actually went to the bank in Italy and got all the paperwork from a surveyor re: the land as Grandpa kept saying don't worry about it. Grandpa is 87, so it got to the point where DH just took care of it one summer when he was over there. Italian law stipulates that children receive the land anyway upon a passing of a parent, so you shoudln't worry too much.
