Do you like everything planned? or some mystery?

DH wants to find out the sex of our baby, but I don't. For various reasons I have agreed to find out with this one. But because we're finding out, I'm secretly hoping it's a girl - but it's kind of for a strange reason.

We have had a boys name picked out forever - maybe even before we were married. Girls' names are much more up in the air. I feel like if it's a boy, then that's it, everything's decided - we know what it is, what it will be called, etc. - and for some reason I'd really like to keep some of it a bit of a mystery.

Am I weird? Does anyone else feel like this?

I don't know...We found out the sex, and have a name picked out, but I feel like there are still so many questions!

Who will he look like? What colors will his eyes be? What will his personality be like? When will we finally get to meet him!?

I think it varies for people, but I found comfort in knowing the sex and being able to prepare...So much of what my body is doing is a mystery Chat Icon, and there are so many questions about when/how you will deliver, that it made me feel more stable being able to know all of the information that I can.

And to be honest, DH was always wonderful throughout my PG, but seeing him SO excited to be father of a Chat Icon has just made me love him even more. He emails me pics of crib bedding and is already planning on coaching little league! I see the bond he has with his son already, and it's just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. We have been so much more together since finding out the sex...We can imagine our little family.

we found out first pregnancy babys gender, then after baby was born I felt like I was missing a big part of the delivery.. the whole big announcement at the end. So this pregnancy dh and I decided we want the big announcement at end.. so we didnt find out. We get alot of strange looks from people when they hear we found out first time and not second.. always same question.. "why?, thats not normal?" Chat Icon .. hows it not normal. Chat Icon Either way both ways were great.. just this time I want the surprise.

I like to know some things. To me what labor would be like, when it would be was enough of a mystery!

Exactly! I want to know the sex but I'm staying as far away from labor and delivery info until I actually have to know. My SIL obsessed over labor and delivery from day one and I, in no way, want to get to the level of paranoia that she did. I'd rather not think about it. Oddly enough, she ended up having a c-section.
