I went to one for Madison Handbags- it's a fairly new company where you sort of design your own bag- it was fun and low-pressure. Otherwise, if I was bugged into spending money I wouldn't like it.

I was in Panera once where a new Silpada lady was getting trained- I was thinking that I would lose my mind if I ever had to attend one of the trainer's parties- she was like a Stepford Wife. Chat Icon

I don't
I really don't ever buy stuff. I have too much stuff, not enough space. I don't use gadgets - just a pot and a spoon is fine. All of my jewelry has sentimental meaning and I wear it every day. I wish I had LESS decorative items in my house not more.

I ALWAYS feel guilty about not buying and will pick out the cheapest item to get. I have quite a collection of small candles from all the home decor parties I have attended LOL

I THOUGHT I was buying this small Arbonne sample kit for $40...

3 glass of wine later...

The sample kit actually cost $120 Chat Icon

They got me drunk and took my $$$ Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I love Pampered Chef. I have not been to one or hosted one in a long time.
The pushiness to have your own party is the thing that bothers me most.

Re: Do you like those home parties (Pampered Chef, Partylite, Mary Kay, etc)

The parties themselves are OK, but I don't like feeling pressured to buy something. Even if they say "no pressure, only if you want to, the rep will be over there in the corner if you're interested" there's still the expectation.

ETA: and the pressure to have your own party! Don't like that at all. No, I don't want to have a party... I'm at THIS party, I just bought the only thing I can justify spending my money on out of the product line, all of my friends are at this party, three of THEM just signed up to have their own parties, so who the heck is going to come if I throw another one?!

I love Tasetfully Simple
But I always feel that I have to buy something - it gets annoying esp if you keep getting invited to the same type of party.

No, I never go to them. I'm not a fan of the stuff. The lady in my office tried to get me into it, I kept turning her down. Finally I gave in and looked at a book....it was useless crap I never use. I didn't buy anything and she never bothered me again.
