do you see a doctor regularly?
i just read an article which reminded me of something i always wanted to do:
see doctor on a regular basis (every six months - year) to get checked out.
does anyone have a GREAT doctor. more of a DO, that they see for routine check ups?
not just blood work either.

Re: do you see a doctor regularly?
Where do you live?
My old doctor was a DO. he retired so now I go to an MD.
Why are you looking for a DO? Do you want osteopathic manipulation, or are you just looking for someone with a more holistic approach?

Re: do you see a doctor regularly?
I see a DO normally every six months, primarily due to my family history. I am almost a hypochondriac since my mother's diagnosis and now recent death. I get a CBC, with metabolic panel, iron panel, lipid panel, thyroid, etc. It gives me peace of mind when my results come back. Also see him for normal things like bronchitis, etc. My dr has a very conservative approach which I like. I would recommend him, but I'm not in NY.

Re: do you see a doctor regularly?
I see my primary care regularly - every 3 months. I have high b/p and need prescription refills every 3 months. Every other visit (every 6 months) she orders complete blood work and once a year, she does a physical.
My Dr is a DO but is located in Suffolk.

Re: do you see a doctor regularly?
My DO is in Wantagh. I have a chronic condition and I see him every 6 weeks or so.
Not life threatening but he also takes care of my whole immediate family so while he is taking care if my stuff I talk to him about anything going on with them. I'm on all of their hippa forms so it's all good.

Re: do you see a doctor regularly?
I see my ObGyn every year and go to the dentist every 6 months. This year I saw my PCP for the first time since December 2007 and now, I am going to make a point to go each year for a physical. This year I went on my birthday and I think I might keep up that practice - its a good reminder and kinda like a present for myself. Preventive care is free so might as well take advantage of it!
