Do you take off work for an IUI?
Did you take the day off? IF you had back to back IUI's did you take both days off?
Could I do the first one in the afternoon so that I only have to take the day of the second one off?
Just trying to figure out how this all will work with work...

Re: Do you take off work for an IUI?
Didn't take off of work. I had two of them on a Sunday so that helped but I would have gone back to work if it was on a weekday.
I was done with the whole thing in about 45 minutes with the wait time at the office.

I teach, so I can't just leave work and go back. I have to do it early AM or in the afternoon. My principal is not big on letting people come in late or leave early.

Re: Do you take off work for an IUI?
My RE's office was only a couple of blocks from my office and my IUIs were done around lunchtime or at the end of the day, so I never had to take any extra time off work.

I took off the 1st time I had them...just bc I didn't know what to expect. I always asked for the 1st appt (7:30am) and was able to make it to work in Brooklyn by 10:30. IUI's are quick and painless! No need to waste an entire day!

Well then you have to get it scheduled early or late otherwise you will have to take the days off.
That stinks..it's not a big deal and it's a mildy invasive procedure.

Re: Do you take off work for an IUI?
It's really hard with work... I did most of mine when I had time "off".
But if you make it to IVF: you will need even more time off.
It all depends on when your office opens.
Usually they do those things in the AM. If you work close by, you probably can make it. I'd get to my office at 7:00 (it opened at 7:30) and would get out by maybe 8-8:30 latest. If your office openned at 6:30, you may be able to make it.
I never did back-to back IUIs.

You don't have to take the day off. You just lay there for about 10-15 minutes after the IUI and then you are free to go about your regular activities....
I returned to work after my first IUI and I went to a friend's wedding after my second one. My 3rd IUI was successfull and I had that one on Thanksgiving weekend and spent 2 days in bed. Don't know if there is a connection between the rest and my BFP but personally, I think it was the fact that I was calm and relaxed rather than at work.

I didn't. I don't really see a reason why you would need to.

Nope I went to work right after, and I got pg. I wouldn't go and run a marathon but the Dr says you can resume your normal activities.
