Do you usually get everything on your holiday wish list?

Within reason of course, but do you usually get everything you have asked for?

For those of you who want jobs and babies and good health I really hope that those wishes come true.

I buy what I want throughout the year, so I really don't have a big list. I usually get GC to HomeDepot or Sears, so I can buy stuff on my own (Have you ever tried to gift wrap a 4'x8' sheet of plywood for someone?... )

If there was something I wanted but didn't get, I would just buy it myself.

I am saying other because its split.

From my family- I never got anything I wanted- it was always something i wont wear, or doesnt fit (and cant take it back for 1 reason or another).

On the other hand my DH always gets me everything on my list plus some kind of extra surprise.

i usually get most, if not all of it, but i only make a wish list that is reasonable...

for example, i want a new computer, but i know nobody is going to spend that much money-so instead i ask for gift cards and smaller gifts so that i can pool the gift cards before i throw in my own money

the past few years i haven't asked for anything. we got married and bought a house in 09 so i didn't want DH to get me anything and last year we were pregnant and we agreed no xmas presents.

this year it looks like it will be the same.


do i care? no not really. would it be nice? of course. i have a wish list but it just wouldn't be responsible of us to spend the money on materialistic things. we need a new car so we're getting that and we need a new roof so if i have to sacrifice my xmas presents for that, so be it.

What "I" want or what "I" think we can afford?

Because we need a money tree for my REAL wish list.

So after "editing" my wish list, yes... I get what I want.

I generally do get everything, but my list is very realistic. I know we don't have a lot of money so I base my list on that.

I like surprises, but DH likes having a list so he gets something he knows I really want.

So my list always includes more options than what will be bought, KWIM? Like I'll give a number of options and know maybe only 1 or 2 will be bought, depending on the cost. That way there's still some element of surprise.

The list is for Christmas and birthday (same time) so he always wants lots of ideas and sometimes will tell my mom too if she asks. No one else really buys me gifts.

I'd say I usually get a few things from my list, and then some surprises. My family is a big fan of surprises... sometimes it works out well, sometimes not so much!

Generally, yes. I only ask for things I really need/want, and DH likes to make me happy.

The past few years I didn't bc of saving for the wedding. This year I only asked for 2 things. It adds up to a lot of money since one of them is a macbook, but it's one of the things we actually agreed to buy after the wedding since i have no computer at this point, so DH is getting off easy that way

I really don't ask or anything. I'm 30 years old, if I want something I just buy it lol. This holiday is about the kids IMO

I didnt even know adults made lists. If i want something i buy it.

Ive never made a wish list... Shaun never buys me stuff so it doesnt matter

About 95%. Both DH and his mom spoil me. (He's an only child, so she treats our family really well)

I never really make a list...I can never think of what I want. DH is good though bc he tries to remember what I say I want throughout the year..so I do get what I want for the most part.

I dont make a list. I would feel very childish as an adult to make a list of things I "want". I did that when I was a kid.

Now as an adult, we dont exchange with family b/c we think its ridiculous. And DH and I dont exchange, I buy whatever I want every single day of the year so I dont see a need for DH to buy me something I dont really need.

We spend our time and thoughts on buying for our DC.

I dont make a list or anything, but if there's something big I want, and that's not even every year, DH will always deliver. Last year I got a great camera, the year before a laptop, etc... But when I get something big like that I won't get anything additional for my birthday which is January 4.

Usually. But I don't really ask for much and my mom makes us kids shop for ourselves so obviously I get everything I want from her.
