Does anyone drive their child to school everyday (kindergarten) ?
I prefer not to use the bus this coming year. The stop is on a very busy corner where people fly through our neighborhood, so I am just going to drive everyday. How does it work when you drop off? Do you just drop them off in the front and watch them go in? or walk them inside? For pick up do they just let them outside, or do you go inside and have to show ID, etc.? Just wondering on the logistics!

Every school has different protocol and procedures. Many schools do not have parents walk the kids in after the first few days. I believe most schools have parents wait outside for pickup but I could be wrong. your best bet is to talk to a neighbor who has kids in the school.

My kids take the bus (stop is in front of my house) but the times I have dropped them off, I have to walk them in and sign them in.. after that, they have to walk to their classrooms on their own.

From my experience as a sub and teacher;
For walkers, there is usually a door for the parents to stand near and the teacher walks them out and they go to whom ever is picking them up. For drop off, I think the same. Pretty much leave them at the door and they go to class.
The first few days I am sure you can walk them to the classroom

In DS school in the morning you can walk them to the door of the cafeteria. That is where they wait till the get dismissed to the class rooms. There is 3 teachers there with them. You can access if from the parking lot so for the older kids (mines is 9) you can just drop them off and watch them walk in.
For pick up you have to walk into the cafeteria and sign DC out. Each time, every single day.
