I agree Jess... hate the ginger LOVE the wasabi!!!!
I always ask for no ginger and extra wasabi.
DH loves the ginger.

Once in a while I put a piece on top of a roll, it freshens the sushi up and cleans my palate

I eat it... it's supposed to actually cleanse your palate when going from one piece of sushi to another AND it's supposed to help with digestion.
There's my .02 of useless knowledge for tonight.

Absolutely true!! And you do want to cleanse your palate between different fish! I always use it just for that.
It is actually very good when it's good quality, really refreshing and light! I don't believe it is ment to be put on top of sushi though, as some people said they do...
