Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
And if you do how is it? Is it a pain not having the drop down side? TIA

I do not have that crib; in fact, both of my girls' cribs have drop down sides--but I've NEVER used them! And I'm not tall--5'4, but I've never had a problem.

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
I have a crib without a drop down side and I hate it. I would never buy another one without a drop down. Its a pain in the arse to pull a toddler out. Next one has a drop down eject system.
eta..I am 5'7" and I struggle with this crib. And I have a herniated disc...

I have a crib similar to that without the drop down sides, and so far I love it! I haven't had to put the mattress down yet, but do not anticipate a problem since I am 6 feet tall.

I have a very similar crib to that one. So far, So good. I'll be honest. We haven't lowered the mattress yet, so, I can let you know soon.

I have cribs like that for both my son and daughter. Both of their mattresses are all the way down and I never had a problem with it.

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
MIne doesn't and I will be honest at this age it;s a pain if she is asleep. Last CHristmas Eve she did a header out of it so we had to turn it around so the back (which is higher) is now the front and I step stool ( I am almost 5'5) and I still have a hard time getting her all the way in. While I love my crib if I had to do it again I would get a drop down side to have just incase I needed it.

I have a model very similar to that. I only have a problem getting into the back corners now because I'm pregnant but other then that...it hasn't been a problem.

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
I have that exact one in antique walnut and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! If you have any questions let me know. I also have the 5 draw dresser that goes with it. We lowered the mattress b.c out ped suggested it last month - I have never had any issues with it and it is a great sturdy crib. DD sleeps very well at night now (but we have taken out the bumpers etc. now).

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
I have a similar crib and it's no problem. Actually, the only time I would probably use the drop down is when I DD is sick and I have to rock her to sleep. Having to take her off of my body and put her all the way down to the lowest setting often wakes her up. Other than that, I don't think I would use it.

It hasn't been a problem at all for me, except when I had surgery on my wrist, but everything was a hassle then. My husband had to put her to bed everynight then.

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
i have a crib without a drop down and i am only 5'1". My only issue is when DS is asleep and I have to lay him down - I will plop him down kind of hard - so now I keep high shoes in his room and I'll stand on those before putting him down so as not to wake him up!

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
We bought a similar one for DS 4.5 years ago.... and bought another one for DD 1.5 years ago. DS's was dropped all the way to the floor, and we never had a real problem (we're both around 5'6"). DD's is part-way down, and no problems.
There have been too many recalls on drop-down cribs, and stories of kids getting pinched, or parents forgetting to put the sides up, or not clicking them in all the way. For us, it wasn't worth the risk.

I have one of each type of crib and I nevered used the drop down feature on DS's crib even while being 9 months pg with DD.

Re: Does anyone have a crib like this without the drop down side?
both my cribs didn't have drop down sides and I found no problems (I'm 5'7) - until I was pregnant and tried to get the older one in the crib while sleeping - I had to kid of drop him into it - DH took over after that...LOL Otherwise they help you get in and out when you lower it and they pull up.
