Does anyone have anterior placenta and still found out the sex?

At my regular appointment last night the OB confirmed that I have anterior placenta. It explains why I've had much fuzzier sono pics of the baby than I did with DS (those were crystal clear!). I asked her to check for the sex and she said impossible! But that at my anatomy scan, they might be able to tell because their machines are much clearer and stronger.

That said, we REALLY want to know the sex this time. We were team green with DS and loved it, but this time we want to know and wanted to find out by opening the envelope for Christmas.

Now there's a chance we won't be able to find out

Has anyone had anterior placenta, but still been able to find out the sex???

I have anterior placenta and found out the sex at our 20 week anatomy scan.

My sister had one and found out the sex. It just might be later in your pregnancy that you would like

I had an anterior placenta with my first & although it took a few tries to see his sex, that was because he was shy & kept crossing his legs. The placenta didn't seem to cause any problems

I can't really help because we are team .

But if you had your heart set on doing a gender reveal on Christmas, you might want to consider going to a 3D sono place. The one I went to had a fairly cheap package that was just a 15 minute sono to determine gender. That kind of place should have very good quality equipment so you shouldn't have a problem.

Then again a lot of them won't do a sono before 16 weeks and I don't know how many weeks you are.

I had an anterior placenta with DS, it didn't obstruct us from finding out the sex at all (found out at the anatomy scan).

I had anterior placenta with DS and they were able to tell he was a boy (we were but, I asked if they could tell and they said yes).

I had an anterior placenta and found out the sex at 12w, confirmed at 16w and again at 20w.

My sister has this and they guessed boy at 13 weeks. They had no trouble confirming it at 20 during the anatomy scan

had an anterior placenta with both DD and DS. we were able to find out no problem with DD at the Level II. We were Team Green with DS but the tech said we couldnt have found out anyway, not because of the placenta but because the baby kept his legs crossed the entire time!

I had an anterior placenta and found out the sex at 12 weeks! No one ever mentioned that it might be a problem.

I had an anterior placenta and they guessed girl at like 10 weeks, again at 16 and confirmed at 20. I didn't start to feel "real" kicks until about 7 1/2/8 months though : ( I felt so jipped!

I had it and they were able to give me a guess at 12wks and confirm at 16wks

I have an anterior placenta and also had one last pregnancy. I was team green last time, but this time- I even had the tech guess the gender correctly at my 12 week. Last pregnancy they still check gender even if you are npt finding out, and it was never communicated to me that there was an issue in trying to check. I don't think you will have a problem.
