I don't have to, she does that herself! She barely eats. She's 5 1/2 and weighs 43 pounds.... I think that is small but then I see it's average. Who knows
My DD is 3 1/2 and 50lbs. She's a brick house.
My DS is 8 and weighs 62lbs
I agree that it depends on the child. I have a friend whose son, even at 7, stress eats. So she does try to control what he eats and when.
Basically, whatever works in your house for your family, is fine.

Nope. I let Him eat when he is hungry and if he refuses when we eat I don't make a fuss.

My son is 7.5 and weighs 45lbs, so I think 43 at 5.5 is pretty good! lol

The only time I may limit a snack is if we are really close to eating dinner. Besides that, if my DS is hungry, he has a snack. A snack around here is usually sliced up tomato, yellow pepper, berries, cheese... or if we are out it's pretzels and crackers. It's usually healthy, so I never thick twice about it.

Re: Does anyone limit their child's food intake?
Dd can EAT. If it's something she enjoys like pasta or tacos, she is a bottomless pit so I do say "last taco or last pasta uou can have some veggies/fruit if you're still hungry." And I've learned to give her a little pasta and veggies. she will finish her pasta and ask for more so I say eat some veggies then I'll give you more and she will. When she wont eat any more veggies I know she's not physically hungry.
when she asks for a snack and I think she's just bored or wants a treat I offer her veggies. She almost always says no thanks and walks away lol.
