Does anyone wear a night teeth guard for grinding?
I have had one but never gave it a chance. I am worried my condition has worsened as I have jaw shifting and possibly jaw muscles got bigger. Dows wearing the guard help? Also, what kind of guard do you have?

Does anyone wear a night teeth guard for grinding?
So I wear mine when I find myself grinding. I usually wear it for a few nights and then stop. At first I got some ridiculously expensive one at CVS. I want to say it was $40. In speaking to my friend who is a dental hygienist, she said the ones for $10 on Amazon are just as good. So the next time I had a bout with grinding my teeth I chose the Amazon. I didn’t see a difference in the $39 one and the Amazon one. After a few days it usually gets better and I don’t have to wear it anymore.

Re: Does anyone wear a night teeth guard for grinding?
I had this problem.
I did have a night guard and it helped with my TMJ.
I was able to get into a dental program with my dentist who specializes in TMJ and made me a case because it was pretty severe. I also had a tongue thrust and crossbite on one side. So I was able to get braces for a discounted price.
Old school on the bottom and ceramics on top.
After almost 2 years of having them on I now have my retainers that I wear all day and night except for eating.
I am happy I did it. there was a huge difference. My jaw doesn't have that rice crispy sound when I open.
and it doesn't pop when I open up wide.

Yes, I bought an over the counter one as my dentists office wanted to charge $625 for a custom made one.

Never use an over the counter one. They can cause more damage and pain.

I have that pop in my jaw when I open wide too. Are you saying the nightguard resolved that? That's great you resolved it all.

The nightguard did help. But the braces helped more.
