Does anyone wear daily disposable contact lenses?

I see Accuvue finally came out with disposable ones. They are a little more than the weekly ones. If anyone that used daily disposable, was there any difference in them between the weekly ones?

Not me, but my DH switched to disposables last summer and LOVES them! He had all kinds of issues before that but ever since switching he hasn't had one complaint. And that's saying a lot! Chat Icon

Totally worth the extra money for him.

Thanks for responding.

Do you use the astigmatism ones? I use the Oasis for astigmatism and I see last year they came out with dailys, which they never had for astigmatism. I have a trial pair in now. They seem to be thinner than my two weeks ones. I don't mind spending the extra $$ for the daily, but trying to decide.

They def may be a little thinner but I have never had an issue with them ripping. I had a reaction from the weekdays where I would get so ething like hives on the in inside of my eyelid no matter what cleaning solution I used it would happen. Since switching that problem went away! Def worth the extra $$

I switched to dailies years ago and never looked back. They are more comfortable and I have far less irritation and dryness now.

Re: Does anyone wear daily disposable contact lenses?

I wear daily lenses also because of an autoimmune/allergic reaction (called giant papillary conjunctivitis) to the protien buildup on the weekly, no matter what cleaner I use. The eye doctor says I can never use weekly lenses again, its either daily or glasses.

My eyes have been so much better ever since, less problem with allergies and itching.

I wear dailies. I find my eyes are less dry and irritated when I wear them.

Guess I am the oddball...I got them b/c i work in construction and dr felt they would be better for me, i found them flimsy, and my vision wasn't as good. Felt they were not as good as the weekly contacts and they cost me alot more upfront. I stayed with them for 6 mos, but went back to weekly, felt they were cheap and kept moving all over my eye.

I wore weekly lenses for years and one day my eye became so swollen and painful it felt like it was popping out of my head. The doctor showed me when he flipped over my eyelid the huge white bumps which are normal bumps, just swollen so we can actually see them. I couldn't wear lenses and had to use drops for 2 weeks and he said no more weeklys ever because this does not go away. I thought when he said conjunctivitis that it was infection, but he says no, its autoimmune reaction to protien and that no cleaner will remove every trace.

I find it easier now with the daily lenses because I can just throw them out when I'm tired and want to go to bed instead of having to take them out, clean them and put them in a case at the end of the day.
